The pully is that size for a reason, Take a look at the difference in dimentions between an M20 2.0 and an M20 2.7 front pully. It's the same as all E30's,
pull the main A post connector apart the pins will more than likely
be corroded.
try cleaning them with switch cleaner or replace the pins.

Possibly the over-voltage relay, Little silver one next to the ABS control unit.
You can by pass the relay to test it, if the light goes out when you by-pass the relay it's dead.
Never leave the by-pass on as it protects the ABS control unit.
