Re: BMW F31 tyre pressure monitor

If you buy one from BMW you get the whole sensor that needs programming and you will need a decent diagnostic machine to programme it. But you can strip the valve from complete unit and just swap valve itself. They’re about £80 from BMW. Have you got a picture as I’m pretty sure they’re identical to...

Have you had the engine running again after doing the timing chain?

Was it out in the first place?

Breaking a 116i would be a painful task with a lot of idiot buyersz

Re: 330i ECU Replacement?

I didn’t notice this thread until now. I have seen this once before on an E46.

I was lucky and cleaned all the connections up, I put a new thermostat in. I also put a bit of solder in the wiring to stop it back tracking to the ECU, if it ever became and issue in the future.

What’s a steal? They seem to be commanding good money at the minute.

Ask the seller to do a compression test.

Just misfire codes? No VANOS codes?

Re:

Am I right in thinking it’s a push rod engine?

I wouldn’t suspect a holed piston as you’re exhaust would be smoking more than you do a˜‰

In my experience if you’ve lost compression on 1 cylinder, I’d suspect valve/spring/rocker.

Re:

If I’m honest, I’d expect a bit more damage if it’s just the one cylinder on low compression, usually headgaskets go between cylinder leaving 2 cylinders low on compression.

Whip the head off and find out what the crack is, could potentially be head/valve related.

Re: Non PAS to PAS on a mk2 golf 1.3

I’ve done a Corsa C electric column conversion on one, part was about £50 from a scrapyard. A controller from eBay about £40. An aftermarket steering wheel and boss was probably about £100. And took me around a morning to fit it. That was about 6years who and it’s still working fine to this day.

Injectors, EGR valves, handbrake levers, gearboxes, lock motors in the back to name a few.

They are generally decent vans TBH. Sometimes it’s luck of the draw.

Brian, what year E39 is it? Last of the 528s- ended in 2000, IIRC. If later ones were fitted with it, then it may be worth searching out a breaker. I was under the impression that isofix was introduced with the E60. Doing some reasearch looks like the ISO fix is part of the chassis, there's nothing...
