Not positive on this one but my mate over filled his punto sporting with oil one time, he ended up with oil coming out the his air filter. it was just the build up of pressure as there was too much oil in it and it just blew most of his seals. im not saying its the same reason but it sounds similar....

not ideal i know, but atleast i wont have a wet interior anymore. i doubt silicone would hold the hose in position let alone leave a nice smooth flow for the water into the hose from the channel, remember any backed up water would just spill over into the car anyway. Shame they dont do white duck ta...

i doubt the bmw bell housing will bolt onto a toyota block...if your willing to spend the money and get the block bored and tapped in the necessary places for the 'box to bolt into, but that seems a lot of hassle when a prop shaft is easier to get butchered to fit...as some one has already said, cho...

Thanks for that mate, plenty of info! Why would you need to open the 320's inlet manifold ports when using a 320 head anyway, surely the ports are matched from the start!? or do you mean you have to open the 320 manifold to suit the 325i Throttle Body? Using the 325 inlet manifold then opening up th...

Chu346 - i take it the 525e has a different crank, hence different stroke to a regular 525 then? what age/model are these 525e's? Please explain the Eta bit, its doin ma head in! is the eta engine the alpina engine? diesel crank etc? So using the 320 head's benefit is the timing is easier to s...

Sorry, probably a silly question, what is the "Eta" all about, is this the coding for the 525?(i do apologise, im new  ) And another silly question...is it just a case of bolting the 325 complete head onto the 525 complete bottom end to get the 2.7litre? Or does it need to be the 320 head with...

Oil ways...
See on the 325, next to the head bolts, there are small holes, i take it these are oil ways? a few of my head bolt washers are covering these holes, could this be affecting the oils travel into the head causing my rattle? (see post "rattle after rebuild") the haynes manual doesnt say anything about ...

There didnt seem to be much oil getting up top, which i thought was strange, i thought there would be more. the previous owner said he used 15w-40 oil in it, ive read 10w-40 is better, maybe even thinner, could this have blocked the oil ways? How will i clear them? how can you check if they are block...

Rattle after rebuild?
Well finally got new cam and rockers fitted on my 325, set the clearances up etc, all ready to go. Went to start it today, struggled to get it going, then all of a sudden it fired into life! It was idling fine for a few minutes then it slowly developed a very loud rattle... :( Dunno what it is, it s...

Cams, head or new engine?
Hi there folks, im new here, ive just bought a 325 touring(originally a 320 touring, now 325 engined), needs lots of work, hence why it was so cheap! The previous owner has stripped the head off it, (cams out, rockers the lot!) because the cam was fecked. Im not sure whether to rebuild the head with...
