Re: Low Surging Idle >500RPM
I would check the ecu chip I had a custom designed chip from A tech that did this although the car never stalled and ran great and was much quicker after the chip so much so that a low idle never bothered me.

Re: 546/6 touring
would have been a nice car ten years ago and was probably cheaper then too. These old beasts are fetching too much cash now especially when you factor in all that will have to be spent to get them right.

Re: m54 oil usage
cheers I don't really want to change the oil unless it definitely reduces usage. So could really do with hearing from someone who has used 5w30 and 5w 40 to see if its worth a premature oil change.

m54 oil usage
I have a 330i which runs and drives great, having had the suspension upgrades these cars so desperately need. However it is using a lot of oil now it has always used quite a bit but its getting worse. Given that it runs so well I was thinking of changing to a thicker grade of oil has anyone done thi...

The market is being driven up by people who have the clear funds to buy collectable cars, both in this country, and abroard. The 996 and E30, are only clinging to the coat-tails of that market though! :) true but if interest rates rise significantly new entrants to the market will think twice about...

Re: E46 330i opinions?
I have had a 330i for four years it took a lot of time and money to get it to handle well uprated shocks springs and arb's plus a proper alignment but now I can't bring myself to part with it as I keep driving more expensive cars that are no better. If you can find a good one i.e one that has had pl...

Re: It's finally done it - E90 under £3000
I think e90's generally are fairly expensive compared to the e46 at the same age. I put it down to scrappage scheme and low car sales for a few years after 2008 which have kept used car prices high.

£2300 for a 324k 2.0 diesel with engine issues that sounds really expensive to me.

ride quality on the h+r springs is excellent but I would go for the 35mm drop it will be at least that. Also h+r arb's transform these cars.

the momos are the best yes the view of the speedo is obscured a bit but they are way superior to either tec 1 or 2 as for the standard and the SE the less said the better.

Re: going rate for complete abs kit retrofit?
I have driven non abs e30's and properly set up they stop very well and have better brake feel than the abs fitted cars. I really wouldn't bother if your cars brakes are carp it's not the lack of abs that's the likely problem.
