Re:
I want to read the book. I've been on this thread from the start and there are no words for how much of an epically good job you've done. For one, I'd be willing to part with 100 quid for a proper glossy hardback and would happily take on-board some proofreading duties etc. Maybe we can all pitch in...

Re: N54 twin turbo e30????
This is a swap I had in mind for my dream E30... was planning to use Omex but based on your comment Alex I did a quick bit of research and you look to be right. Damn. Although now I've seen that the N52 is even light perhaps a lightly supercharged approach could work just to pop it over the 300mark...

Glad to see the diff finally fitted - in answer to your pm question - ramp angles were not modified but it was multiplate upgraded for durability, it locks consitstantly even after a hell of a thrashing

I didn't mean the were worn only. Also that the timing is incorrect. The M42 has adjustable sprockets on both cams that can slip or be prone to maladjustment.

Re:
I would have the cams checked and reset to stock timing too - it's a pretty quick job and you're quite a lot of power down - I think that could account for it.

Re:
oh dude... lethal is not the word. the iS even with the on/off throttle and supercharger was much tamer in the snow/ice - Power delivery is very progressive in the M3 so I think it's mainly the 245s that are the problem. Have to be really careful!

Re: E36 M3 alarm question
Hmm... So this morning I popped out the hazard button and didn't find and (obvious) alarm related wires. I pulled the switch completely out also and that didn't help either.
Back to plan A? Remove the alarm module itself?

I do have a spare, light comes on but it does nothing. I wonder if it just needs recoding cos it didn't have a battery for a long time.

Re: E36 M3 alarm question
Yeap it's the OEM BMW one but it does have a key switch on the back - turning it seemed to only turn the siren off though. It's a 98 car. Got the square key fob, not key integrated, with one red and one grey. There's a box with a blue connector above the EWS module in the glove box, is that the one ...

E36 M3 alarm question
Hey folks, Any thoughts on this one... I lost my keys on NYE and have everything spare expect that alarm fob for the M3 - so I can drive the car and have disabled the alarm siren but even when driving the hazard periodically go off, which basically means I can't drive the car... I'm leaving the batt...

Loving it.
Although - it's a bit unrealistic... Obviously E30s do fly, and yes - they're easily good enough to pull Santa's sleigh...
But the headlights aint that good!

Re: Alarms/Immbolizer - Careful where you plug stuff in...
A meter will show a voltage that might well be on the circuit but it's no indicator that there's a useful current flowing.

Re: understeer
I think it's also interesting that when you lower the front of an E30 - the lower arm gets closer to horizontal, which is it's max neg camber position. As the spring compresses the lower arm effectively gets shorter and that starts to push the tyre in to positive camber. I wonder sometimes if it mig...

Re: What race series
I do quite a bit of karting and generally prefer endurance in that so yeah -i think endurance could be cool. I think a large tank in the boot would lead to some intersteing dynamics near the end of the race

Re: understeer
to avoid understeer, try using the brakes to slow the car down rather than the steering, honestly it sounds stupid but all your doing is try too hard, slow in fast out! Not bad advice at all. And an addendum; I've seen a few cars at track days that have very stiff front suspension setups but they h...

Re: What race series
Hey Jon. How's it going. I'm hoping to have the base car built in road-legal form for Zone roam, then make tweaks from there. Not even thought about ARDS yet to get honest. I like the idea of the club msv - I think the v8 we're getting is a pretty stock landrover unit so it would be good to spec it ...

Re: What race series
Interesting - I'll look at hillclimbs too - could be a nice way to start. Glad to hear about a rule change in CTCRC - I just read in the current regs that the engine must be of the same number of cylinders as the orginal car though - hopefully that will get lifted too. Just looked at the DMN regs to...
