Sad to read this.
He was always on the Zone and gave his input on everything he could.
RIP Steve.

Re: Long Time…..
I’ve still got the 325 which I’ve had for 29 years now, still going strong.
The M3 is in fine fettle also.
New addition was the E61 M5 Touring which I picked up 8 years ago.

Long Time…..
No see…..
Well it’s been a while since I’ve crept back in here and when I did I was met with bad news about members passing away.
Who’s still knocking about and still in the E30 club ?

Such sad news!
Pete was great and knowledgeable with a wealth of South Yorkshire mannerisms, spent many a day in his unit with Steve - Topless.
RIP Pete and thanks for the memories

Sadly the stitching is vertical and not horizontal like the E30 M3.
They’ve been re trimmed and not exactly the correct way.

We didn’t buy gifts for each other as we decided to make others Christmas special by donating money to those who lost their jobs and had kids, much more rewarding knowing the kids benefited having a normal Christmas during these times.

Yes the plan is to head directly fo Baden Baden and I’m probably best heading towards Aachen as that’s the closest border.
My bladder will be fine but the need to take on fuel is more important as I’ll be in the V10 and that drinks!

Paul, slightly off topic but can I ask a question about a trip next week.
I’m heading over to Baden Baden for 3 nights and I was going to leave Calais and transit through France direct to BB. Which way would you go via Aachen, Luxembourg or direct through France ?

I’m hoping to be back over to Baden Baden in 2 weeks, not sure whether to take the M3 or the M5 but I need to cross France to avoid the quarantine without stopping off and I don’t want to ring the neck of the M3. Sail to Holland, Reminds me I really should do a trip to Hamburg. That’s my normal rou...

I’ve tried joining ADAC but they won’t take on new UK members.
I left Baden Baden this morning and got caught up in an accident on the A5 heading towards Karlsruhe, ADAC was there within minutes.

I set off for a Euro road trip on the 29th June, took the M5 as I thought it would be too much for the E30 M3. So far I’ve been - Manchester - Bruges - Baden Baden - Zermatt- Monaco - St Tropez and I’m in Annecy now. Heading back up North will see us stopping at Colmar - Baden Baden - Nürburg and fi...

Re: Holiday companies
I think some are treating this furlough as a long holiday without seeing the repercussions. We’re heading into a major recession with countless job losses in all sectors and the tourism and hospitality is the first to be culled. The furlough scheme was good for a short time help out but now it’s an ...

You’ll be sadly missed Mr Stead and thanks for time we had.

Re: Driving Holidays
I took the E30 M3 across Europe to South of France and drove back again via Zermatt. Never missed a beat and surprisingly comfortable for the journey.
I’ve done several Euro road trips in the E61 M5 as that thing rips up the miles with ease and touching 165mph on the Autobahn is liberating.

NC500 is a great route but if you are not camping or in a campervan, it’s not cheap. If you can do it in May, that’s your best best for quiet roads and good weather. I did it over 4 days, the driving is tiring because it’s mostly twisty single track until you get to the East coast. Where is the ide...

Just picked the 325 up from the garage after it had a major coolant overhaul inc cambelt, water pump, thermostat housing & thermostat and all the hoses replaced inc the very expensive metal pipe in front of the rad, oh and a new alternator to tidy things up. The M3 was only in last week for a new cl...
