I want the better balance of the 318is, as I want the car for handling over power. Looks like it's a pretty simple case of sorting the suspension and breaks then, and stripping it out is I want to take it that far.

318is modifications for the track (and a road car)

I've currently got a M40 powered 318i, which is great as a daily run around, but I'm looking to start doing 7 or 8 trackdays a year. I'm thinking of selling the the 318i and buying a 318is to use as my daily drive and for doing trackdays. What modifications would you guys suggest making to a 318is f...

They are about at that sort of money. My tidy 78,000, mile 1988 318i auto I bought for Ԛ£300. It only had 2 months MOT left, but it passed that very easily. My mum recently bought a 1990 316i Manual with 12 months MOT for Ԛ£250, but it has done 140,000 miles.

BIG thumbs up for DanThe. Went to see him and his mate (sorry, didnt catch his name) to collect two passenger side doors. Dan and said mate fitted them for me, including demoving the door glass, electric window mechanism, central locking etc. All done in about 40 mins. Thanks a million guys!!!!!!!!!

I bought some paint in a spray can for my mums Schwarz Black 316i from my local paint factors. I just told them it was BMW Schwarz Black, and they mixed it up and put it in a spray can. The colour match is spot on and the finish is very good too.

Will two E30 doors fit INSIDE an E30?

I need to pick up two passenger side doors for my 4 door E30. Does anyone know if they will fit inside the car to bring them home. I thinking of putting the rear door in the boot and the front door on the back seat. But will they fit?

I've just had a look at the AFM on my mums 316i M40, and it's exactly the same as the AFM on my car, i.e. Brass flat head screw.

I just home the garage can sort the CO tomorrow to get it through the MOT.

It's going in tomorrow to have the CO adjusted and a MOT issued. The plugs are spot on and the car runs PERFECTLY, and the MPG is good too. Also when I did turn this screw a GOOD few times, the running on the engine remained exactly the same.

Thats what I've read on here about it being an allen screw, not a flat head. Mine has a red plastic cap, covering a brass flathead screw. I did wonder if the brass screw was another tamper proof cap, and under that is an allen screw for the adjustment.

If you keep winding this screw in it will over stretch the coil spring inside the AFM! As i told you before, get it done on a CO metre otherwise you will be looking at getting another AFM for it because you did'nt take advise! Thats exactly what I am doing! I'm trying to find out if the AFM could b...

Help please, anyone :(

I know the idle mixture is adjusted by the screw on the AFM, but I have a couple of questions about the screw itself. Firstly, I take it, it is the brass flat head screw which is covered by a red plastic cap (about 9mm in dimeter)? Secondly, does it reach a stop when fully screwed in or out. As mine...

OK just to update, I didnt get round to having the mixture looked at because the car has been running so well, and the plugs look great. However, today I took the car for the MOT, and yep you guessed it, it failed on High CO  The reading for CO was 5.165, and should be less than 3.5 to pass the...

No doubt it's been asked a zillion times before, but what sort of power increase would I expect to gain by fitting an E30Zone Chip to my standard M40 powered 318i auto?

Hand Brake, Common problem??

I'm going to be checking my 318i over for the MOT over the weekend. As far as I know (at the moment) the only problem is the hand brake is not very powerful, and if you pull the handbrake on while the car is rolling, the car pulls slightly to one side. Is there a common problem with the handbrake me...

Well decided tonight to get it back on the road, dents or not :D The dents, although bad, are only cosmetic, so i'll keep it for the time being. Not decided if it's worth replacing the two nearside doors yet though.
