Your auto loom will have a 'start inhibit' circuit attached. Behind the glovebox,hunt out a black/yellow cable(it starts at the ign switch) Trace this cable until it changes to plain black at a single connector,trace the plain black,it will go to a relay and a section will disappear under the carpe...

took the ecu apart looks nothing like that all seems fine,so i'm none the wiser into the cause of either problem though

hi need some help here guys converted from 318i auto to m20 manual. now i have everything in place bar the p/s pump and exhaust and just wanted to here the engine crank over make sure things were algood. i had already cut the brown wire from c101 plug pin 20 as was on engine loom and left for now,co...

m20 engine,i beleive m20 rad,bottom rad mounts are the original m40 ones and engine mounts are spot on m20 mounts

hi all i'm bit confused fitted engine in gone to fit rad and it's hitting the viscous.
checked all mounts all are fine and located properly.
any ideas please people,i'm not sure but could it be the rad and what is the thickness supposed to be?

i'm in the same boat as you human but i do have abs so i thinnk i'll cut the brown out of the engine loom and see what happens

these are the plugs in question the black plug is joined in with ecu loom,white plug is slightly different which i believe was connected to a similar plug with the old m40,both engine loom and oringal loom are from late cars if it helps the white plug runs behind speaker then runs under drivers seat...

odd plug with ecu harness plug
going through connecting up the wiring for the m20 conversion,i've plugged in the ecu theres another plug with 3 wires to it,i've also got the car end but plugs are slighty different.

as you car was an auto the plug you have might be for the inhibitor switch if this is said plug you will need to sort it out if not it will not turn over when you try starting it. the plug in question is like 2 dots on the plug end ok thanks if said it is how do i get around that problem? a photo o...

hi all currently converting my 318i auto to m20b25 manual one problem that i have come across is that speedo i removed from auto box i can't find a location on the manual unit.
gearbox in question is a getrag 260,all i can find is the reverse switch on the side.
hopfully someone can help

hi all someone please help i've spent the last 2 hrs trying to fit a pipe which i'm having diffulcty with. the pipe in question is from the side of my auto box to the bottom of rad i just can't get it to seat right or if i do i can't get it to reach the rad. if someone has the knowledge of the route...

Hi got a e36 325i in to break as engine gone on my convertible tempted in doing the conversion,but not sure in what parts are required. i do like the colour had to change a couple of panels one being the boot and wings for straighter ones and without a silly tech 2 spoiler so will need whole car doing anyway nothing has been set in stone just thought as the car is going in maybe go that extra bit had have a colour change inside and ...
