Time to buy a e36 M3?
Evening All, What do you reckon, do you think now is the right time to buy a tidy e36 m3 before prices rocket? If so which one? I quite fancy a 3.0 one but the prices seem to have really picked up, I'm well aware that they won't match e30 m3's however could well be a good investment. All opinions we...

Hi All,
Just wondering , did any tourings have black carpets fitted? Or is dyeing the only option?
Cheers

Re: most hated wheel on a e30
Defo Bk's, the e36 motorsport reps, anything 3 spoke, tsw venoms although i've never seen them on an e30 before are hateful wheels. what's wrong with bbs reps aslong as they don't have the bbs badge, they look fine don't they? Players will be full of vw fan boys with skinny jeans , expensive hair styles and their mum's polo with £1k wheels.

Re: Aerodynamic mods for e30's
I work at jaguar land rover and had a discussion with one of the aerodynamicist's , the advice he gave me was. 1- front splitter - circa 75mm extending front of vehicle. 2- full flat bottom 3- deflectors at the trailing edge of the fuel tank to prevent the underbody air from hitting the trailing arm...

With the crap you've had to deal with in gunni and rot, to even get this project started is awesome.
I'm amazed you didn't weigh it in.
Fair play and I hope it gets easier from this point forward,

Re: E30 316/316i reliability and maintenance costs?
If it were on a set £1150 (which is what it is on now I believe), I had £1150 to spend on a car *now*, and dare I say it - if it were not red 8O I would be all over it... To be honest, gone are the days of picking up minters for £1k (even 316s) I reckon that is probably a 2.5k car to the right pers...

Re: E30 316/316i reliability and maintenance costs?
Personnelly I would buy the best 316i you can get, this means next to no body corrosion, all the mechanical can be replaced very cheaply. Also it is a lot harder to find good 325i's, on that basis I would consider putting the 325i running gear into your mint shell in the future. Note - you can alway...

Re:
Shocking choice of wheels. Ultimately wheels make or break a project and with toplines this is well and truly broken.
A nice set of style 5s would look stunning and they cost about the same as your toplines.

I wouldn't worry about it, if they are in the market of stealing £30k Audis it is highly unlikely that they will bother with a 4 door e30.
Not worth the hassle.

This may well be the case, but there is also a very Luddite view from some of the older zoners that become very aggressive towards the questions. May I suggest a Zone wiki is written to clearly run the new 'stance' based users through how to get an e30 to there desired ride height, but also indicat...

the regular "What coiloverz" "How low can I slam my 316" "How do I stop foooking my sump?" Sadly, that's the Zone these days. Afternoon all,
After some advice on value.
Have just removed them from my e36 track car and have replaced them with a more track biased set up.
What are they worth?

Re: Sideways & crash at 70mph
Looks more like a 40mph impact to me, at an angle too. I hit a wall at 60+ in an E30 and didnt walk away, engine mounts broke, subframe/steering rack was pushed backwards and sheared off the column mounts I agree with this, never a 60 mph impact. In my previous job I was involved in 9mph off centre...
