Re: 318is v m3
I've used both 4 lug and 5 lug for rallying, imo theres little point changing the E30 geometry to E36 when rally bilsteins are readily available for 4 lug 51mm struts and for the back. The 4 lug front suspension does have a smaller wheel bearing but its hardly under designed and the blue book for ra...

Re: 318is increasing idling rpm (cams)
I take it theres no air leaks anywhere from the TB and ICV - you've probably checked. Could you use the throttle stop screw on the throttle body to get you by? BTW, when i put the cams in my mates engine, etc, etc, i chucked the throttle heater plate, all those silly hoses, heat exchangers and the i...

if you arent bothered about impact damage, make some lightweight bumper irons and fit plain old run of the mill plastic bumpers.

Re: M40 to M20 conversion
Thanks brian, even better i'll just swap the plug as you say. If the car side is the fuse box side then we should be ok. One thing i've noticed is that the rear valance will need a cut and a return edge. My next job is to open up the sump and see if the six pot is as good as it sounds. Will get some...

Re: M40 to M20 conversion
i've removed all the 325i donor running gear now and engine loom. I have also checked the pin 20 on both cars, they both have the red/yellow wire
. Am i correct in saying i can leave the dash wiring in place and just swap the clocks over to suit the six pot?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Power handling of the E30 chassis
Metro group B rally cars had the roll cage tube within the front windscreen pillars, to keep visibility out of the front good. It would be alot of work but very discreet.

Re: M40 to M20 conversion
i have a rotten 325i 4 door with a sweet m20 that i'm going to put into my `new` LHD (dont ask
) m40 tourer (has a dead cam etc, etc). I have noted your sticky Brian with thanks. Will the Left hand drive issue catch me out on anything?
Thanks
John

Sorry, i've had three 320iS's directly from italy no other owners, all have had an oil sender bolted in the underside of the sump, the check panel is as original too....in italian.
i'd check your information source.

Check panel oil light stuck on?
The annoying red `motor oil' light has come on on my 320iS :( . The engine is sweet and the levels are too :) . So i presume i have a wiring fault if there is no way of switching the damn thing off :? . It came on after i had cleaned the heater fan motor out and lubricated the bearings. I've cleaned...
