E30 L-Jet M20 idle low & rich
Hi everyone. So my E30 320i (L-Jet M20B20) has had a new head gasket (thicker one), new head bolts, new spark plugs, and all the gaskets that come with a gasket kit. After putting everything in order, we did the fine tuning in this order 1) Engine start, then Ignition timing 2) Valve clearances 3) F...

Re: E30 Sunroof drips
What are the boot pockets? The space adjacent to the rear lights?
Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a go sometime.

Re: E30 Sunroof drips
is there a picture or a detailed diagram of where the rear sunroof drains are on a 4 door saloon? I don't really want to shove compressed air down the sunroof for fear of dislodging the drain pipes. getting the headliner out involves just the rear window or rear quarter windows too?

Re: E30 Sunroof drips
Yeah. The rear drain isn't clear because the water ends up in the back seats by the looks of it. I might put tape on the sunroof to confirm that.

E30 Sunroof drips
Hello. Just came back home while driving through some heavy rain. When I stopped, I noticed a drip sound above me which I could've thought is the sunroof, so I pushed the headlining a bit to see it and I could see it drip. Now I understand that water will drip into the sunroof as there are drains fo...

E30 fuel level sender removal
Hi. Does anybody know how to remove this fuel level sender? I'd rather not break it doing it the wrong way.

Re: Water in the rear seat (4 door car)
So turns out it's not the window trim and the sunroof rear drain might be blocked. Does anybody know where the rear drains out to? I can't seem to find anything underneath the car when i pour water on top of the car

325i driveshaft
Anybody have a 325i driveshaft? I was doing a rear disc conversion and for some reason one of my old driveshafts wouldn't go in the hub, so i swapped it for the one driveshaft that came with my rear disc trailing arms but of course, now it's thicker than the other one. I don't mind condition as long...

Re: Water in the rear seat (4 door car)
I had this issue on my 2 door when I parked nose up on slope of my drive. Pulling the seat out it looked to be coming from here as shown in the image. This was from the trim round the top/back of the window, I've not fixed it properly yet by replacing the seals/grommits, but putting tape over the g...

Re: Water in the rear seat (4 door car)
Looking at the pictures looks like your Fuel Tank Brackets are also bubbling under the sound deadening. I had the same thing on my cab, cut them all out and replaced them. https://i.postimg.cc/MZLDWpjV/20211213_114301.jpg Alex I take it the only way to do that is to get the fuel tank out. Right?

Water in the rear seat (4 door car)
Hi - I’ve got a pre-facelift 4 door (D-reg) E30. While doing something else, I’ve found that there’s water in the RHD rear seat base. No water in the footwell, backrest or in the boot. I was installing coilovers on the weekend and there didn’t appear to be any holes in the wheel arch or floor. I’ve ...

Re: Removing Throttle Cable
Well time for me to bring up this thread. My throttle cable snapped and I’m about to replace it. Do you pinch on the sides (or top and bottom) of the block in the firewall to remove it? I watched a video of a LHD one in which the user just hammers it out. But based on the comments above it seems lik...

Vacuum hose needed
Hi. My 320i (pre-facelift) needs a vacuum hose that's split (picture attached)
Judging by the parts diagram (also attached) i believe the part number is 11611284661. If you could confirm that part number and give me a price and a way to pay it, it would be appreciated

Assembling rear trailing arms
Hello. I’m assembling some rear trailing arms for a disc conversion on my 320i. I’ve got most of the parts on but I can’t figure out how to position and secure the handbrake cable and the brake pipes since I got rid of the clips and fixtures while stripping them, and didn’t take pictures before doin...

Rear disc conversion
I've got a 1987 320i (gen 1 i think) with rear drum brakes. I've recently been given a set of bare trailing arms so i thought it would be the perfect opportunity for a rear disc conversion. What are the parts i would need? 325i rear Hub+bearing. 1 piston caliper. Pads and discs for a 325? brake dust...

New Member: Tyres as always
Hi - I’ve just purchased a 320i and I was thinking of putting 16x7 wheels on it just so i can run modern tyres. I can see michelin do a PS4 tyre in the 205/55/16 size. Has anybody had experience of running such a set up, especially 55 aspect ratio? I used a fitment calculator to see how they would l...
