Re:

If I was planning an engine conversion this is the one I would go for. Having recently bought an M5 3.8, I can say that the motor is just epic and I came to the conclusion that my ideal car would be a stripped out E30, caged, coilovers, big brakes and an S38B38 motor singing away up front. Unfortuna...

I've never seen an E30 coupe

However, if you are sticking to E30 colours, my choice would be laser blue which looks really good all freshly painted and in the sunshine 8)

If they were my steeds, and seeing as you are asking for opinions, I say play with the wagon - could be a nice machine and pretty unusual (well it would be in the UK and on the zone anyway!).

Good luck with it!

Oh!!! Right, well that's that then! Say no more! Something from the M stable instead then! Slightly ealry to be thinking about this but in the next year or so I am thinking I might like to get my hands on an 840Ci sport. Re: Is it difficult to put a m60 into a e30?

I'm trying this conversion very slowly and it is tricky. I haven't even got into the tough stuff yet, and as Kos says, brakes and gearbox are the biggest bugbear. 6 speed g/box is a) extremely rare and b) about £1000 if you find one unless you are seriously lucky and find a breaker who doesn't kno...

How do you get the bush to slide all the way down to the shoulder on the control arm?!!! I have got E36 M3 3.0 eccentric bushes in the old lollipops and having put the new bushes in, need to fit the bush to the control arm. I have got it so far down the shaft but not all the way to the shoulder. I h...

Re: Not sure if that's been done before?????

Yeh the 4.5 litre AJP8 engine is the 420bhp monster. I beleive it may require shoehorning as it has a massive (read:wide) inlet plenum with a huge twin (maybe even 4) fans and cooling/cold air ducting arrangement at the front of the engine. Also, the exhuast manifolds are huge! Still, would be inter...
