Re: Swapping Radio After Previous Owner Butchered the wiring.
Hello again! Been a while since I responded to this. I actually managed to make a wiring harness so I now have ISO connectors fitted to the car. Thank you both for your help, yourselves and the Wiki were super helpful! Here are some images in case you are interested! I think it looks nice! http://im...

Re: Old cars
Recently shows up multiple times in a new Dua Lipa Video too:
Starts with a neat OutRun-esque beat which unfortunately fades throughout. It also gets defaced/bejeweled towards the end.

Re: Swapping Radio After Previous Owner Butchered the wiring.
Ahh okay. Thank you for your help. I have now located the accessory socket, and found 3 of the cables (the red wire that is joined to the white, and the red and brown 12v/GND wires) Pins V, X and W in the Accessory Socket JPG in the wiki. The speaker cables seem to be going towards each side of the ...

Re: Swapping Radio After Previous Owner Butchered the wiring.
Yes I thought it was strange how nearly every single tutorial on YouTube I could find had very different wiring. Looks like I've got a bit of a challenge on my hands. I always noticed a small drop in radio signal whenever I went over speed bumps a bit too enthusiastically, or when shutting the door....

Swapping Radio After Previous Owner Butchered the wiring.
Hello. I was hoping to spend my Saturday swapping over the radio in my 318i. This started with removing the Blaupunkt Porto 26 (Looks basically Identical to the Stockholm R 26 without the LD button . Once that was out I notice one thing. the previous owner must have been Edward Scissorhands, as all ...

Re: Old cars
I may be able to give a small insight to this. Im 24, and purchased my E30 back in November 2020. As an owner, I like the fact that if something goes wrong its probably easier/cheaper to fix than a 3 year old Yaris or Corsa. Being able to actually work on the car, improve it slightly (I got mine a b...

Yeah, all nuts are nice and torqued now. Will be making the wheel nuts part of my visual check from now on. Car is all repaired and back on the road now! Sounding smoother than ever with some fresh wishbones/bushings, as well as some shiny new brake discs/pads.

Re: Front Left wheel came off. Lucky escape for both me and the E30
I lost my power steering pump on the e46 and that scared the hell out of me but to loose a wheel ??????   You walked away from it   Mart. Yeah it was terrifying. Honestly I was so lucky to manage to get it pointed towards, and into, a turning and get it off the road.

Re: Front Left wheel came off. Lucky escape for both me and the E30
So what actually seperated? All the wheel nuts lost and the wheel fell off ? You should have a long period of noise and vibration long before seperation...to lose all 4 nuts is crazy..... are you in trouble with cosa nostra? ...and yes get a set of locking nuts...at least one per wheel will stop th...

Front Left wheel came off. Lucky escape for both me and the E30
Driving back from dropping my GF at her parents so she can get her car, I start to hear a deep rumble. Concerned, I slow down to 30, on a 50mph Dual Carriageway. Next thing I know there is a massive jolt, and I lose the ability to steer, as I see my front left shell go rolling passed me. I manage to...

Re: E30 Dashboard Lights Error
Thanks!
Turns out it was an issue with the alternate belt (it disintegrated) was on my 'to-do' list since I bought the car a week or so ago, so I thankfully already had the right belt

E30 Dashboard Lights Error
Having taken my 30 to the shops to top up on food, I cam back to a dashboard issue. When the ignition is on, my parking light, brake light, and battery light are all on (Parking light gets brighter when the handbrake is actually applied). I have found a near identical issue listed here on Reddit 3 y...

Re: New Member - M40 318i
Congrats mate, lovey looking car and only 51k miles!!! Where did you find it?! Just outside of Reading on Facebook Marketplace of all places. Wasn't listed anywhere else! The first owner was a Dr, apparently she used it as a daily then gave it to an older man who literally didn't touch it. He then ...

Re: New Member - M40 318i
Radio wise have you looked at the Blaupunkt Bremen sqr 46 dab? A few on here have fitted, me included, and been very pleased with it although not cheap. I have seen this one around, there's just no way I can justify that kind of price on a radio unfortunately, especially when there's some other are...

Re: New Member - M40 318i
Congrats, she looks great! What’s the colour? Dolphin Grey. The front right wing has been replaced/repainted at some point, under certain light you can see the colour isn't perfectly matched with the other panels. There's a couple of scribbles with a paint pen around the bodywork which look like it...

New Member - M40 318i
Hello, I recently bought an '88 318i with only 51k on the clock. Not a spec of rust in sight, and despite a few(3) advisories, a sparkly clean MOT. There are obviously a few things that are going to need work, most importantly a windscreen chip on the passenger side, and some replacement front suspe...
