Windscreen in and steering wheel on. Re: Squeaks and rattles
Weather strips, door rubbers, window felts and rubbers, anything of that nature goes hard over time, or simply compresses and won't isolate effectively any more. Boot rubbers do this too, as do underfloor linings and even sound deadening which goes rock hard over time and needs to be chipped off. Un...

Re: Boingk's Aussie 323i
Righteo, parts incoming! I did a 600km round trip with a mate to load up on parts, we ended up with a front passenger quarter panel, windscreen, chrome bumper and two more wheels for his (so he has a matching set) and then a windscreen, glovebox, chrome bumper and 4x steel 14" rims for mine. I'm als...

Re: Boingk's Aussie 323i
I'm not too sure on the origin of the seats as they came with the car, but everything works okay and they look the part. I can find a part number if anyone is interested? In other news I've tracked down some stock steel wheels, glovebox and a windscreen so can get those soon. I'll be doing a part tr...

Re: Bit of a prrang.
Great work so far mate, I definitely know what you mean abou draconian laws re insurance and registration. I can't be bothered to insure any of my stuff (expect house/contents) as for the old cars I mess around with it's just not worth the hassle. Keep up the progress, don't let the ruts in the road...

Re: Boingk's Aussie 323i Coupe
A quick interior clean shows just how bad the rear seat is. The front ones and even the carpet scrubbed up okay. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/R_mhzFdtAkUrL8aZXpiByE0an_rKgt9Eb9gQXFyLz1YdZP4uiTxEhn3Pk_Itpyh7odW0yK3_--BoNoaqDh2DHr-ZWFcGhsTSNc6cJoyYMK6ZcYnhIiXvczzVtwpVzB2NYy9peDZQWNYz_pRP_w8iIRaJ-...

Re: 325i M20 Turbo info
Consider it from the intake back. Obviously you'll need a new filter, then the turbo, then a charge pipe to the intake. On that pipe you'll need a blowoff and a means of cooling the charge. The means of cooling can be an intercooler, water/meth injection, or both. You may need a larger radiator and ...

Re: Boingk's Aussie 323i Coupe
I did a bit more investigation on the 325i, apart from the paint and bonnet being fairly cactus she isn't as bad as I thought. Mainly because of the turbo manifold and exhaust system. Re: Boingk's Aussie 323i Coupe
The 325e wasn't nearly as bad on the outside, a good hotwash with detergent and sponge got most of the worst grime off her. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Rfn0oZRXlP10Fwg34gDjp-HyupxzHWuDXl2UApxr6bfbBtP_I69oel7Z-hlPzpbJPN8iQFxo9VTJvmBZ_Bm8HhSpxer91ZGQgPjM6zTiMNG97jRC-c_z31_G_unJ8UTQlFRc0ZCglBCb7V...

Re: Boingk's Aussie 323i Coupe
The exterior could do with a clean and a bit of work, sure, and the wheels (IMO) are horrendous... but the real work is going to be inside. This thing is filthy from being off the road sicne 2008 and no doubt has spent the majority of it outdoors and in the hands of people with little to no idea. ht...

Boingk's Aussie 323i
Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and BMW ownership. I've always wanted a nice little E30 and one literally fell into my lap. Down here in outback Australia BMW's are less common overall. Having said that, while looking for a COVID isolation project for a friend I found pair of E30's that was begging to...

New member from Australia
Hi guys,
I couldn't find any locally based forums so have joined up here.
I've picked up a 1985 323i coupe and will be doing a slow build on it to get her back on the road.
Cheers from downunda - boingk
