I spotted your E30 yesterday Trevor up at the Motorist, looking very good. I had a ride up in my red SLK as its for sale so a bit of free advertising :-D otherwise I would have been up in the E30 aswell. Re: E30 Yorkshire newbie - photo's added

Some steelies look nice, but not E30 versions, especially with hub cap fitted  Looks much better IMO, a little wide maybe, any tyre/arch contact? the steelies were just too thin and, as much as I tried to improve the look, never really satisfied with them. there does'nt appear to be any rubbin...

Re: E30 Yorkshire newbie - photo's added

Seems to be a well kept car. You say it is a 1988 car but appears to be a pre-facelift chromie. I thought the last of the chromies were around mid 1987. Would be interested to know which engine have you got in your 318i - is it an M10 or M40 engine? thankyou, I've spent quite a bit of time over the...

Re: Clutch master cylinder

I noticed a bit of oil on the garage floor, had a look under the car and the side of the gearbox was wet so checked the reservoir which was empty so the slave must have been leaking for a while. I had a look online and found a shop down south selling the clutch & master for £47.50 by febi so got the...

Looks really good, nice and subtle. Big change from your painted steelies. Once the weather picks up and we get a bit more daylight we could meet up at The Motorist. The NY 500 near Pickering is also a good cafe meet venue - not far from the Mathewson auction showroom. thankyou, I do like my steeli...

Its been a while since I updated my original post and the car has been through a bit of a transformation. I had her refurbished and back with me during 2020 where I attended a couple of meets. All the bodywork was carried out by Common Lane Restorations but everything else, I decided to take on. Not...

Thinking that it wouldn't be an issue after reading various posts, articles etc, I put E10 in my 318i and it starting missing after circa 10 miles then just died. As I couldn't find any issues, I drained the tank, fitted a new fuel filter and put 10 litres of shell vpower unleaded in. Car is almost ...

it looks like it was a great turn out, I did end up having a ride up but by the time I got there, around 2:30pm there wasn't many around so just went to the airfield.

It would be good to go here when you don't have to buy tickets and can rome around and stay as long as you like.

Re: Quote please

All sorted now Jon, just rebuilt the lock using the passenger side tumbler sequence as guidance although the barrel was shorter so only 7 tumblers but easy enough to figure out the rest one at a time

Finally, all the doors \ ignition now work on the same key, worked wonders for my OCD :-D

Thanks

Re: Quote please

Hi Jon

I took the drivers door lock apart to remove the tumblers but I have a problem, half of the existing tumblers are broken due to an attempted break in.

Apart from taking apart the passenger door lock, is there any other way of finding out the existing sequence?

Many thanks
