Australian Dash Mat Questions
2 questions - (Inspired after seeing another users glue covered dash) 1. Anyone bought one from Australia because ive been told that we get charged stupidly high customs duty and VAT which brings the overall price from £40 to near £100? 2. Are they any good? I would be happy to spend the money...

Fitting Tech 1 Rear Spoiler Help Please

I currently have a standard little spoiler on my car, (not sure what its called but so many cars have it). I want to get a tech 1 and was wondering if it just fits into the same holes...

i'm with swinton on my 2.7 m-tech 2 sport, i pay £25P/M fully comp with agreed value & salvage retention. by far the cheapest i've found, Hi Steve, does salvage retention mean you keep your car if it is written off? Because if it is then it is something i need to ask my company about. Does it cost ...

Im no expert but because its a baur (rare) and also a great colour, black seems like a rare E30 colour, I would happily pay 4k for it and would expect it to be priced around 5k. Re: Bmw E30 any help much appreciated
Hi, you say it went missing, do you mean stolen? If not, it shows up at last having a valid MOT in 2007. This is probably not good news and very likely to have been victim to the old scrappage scheme the government was promoting. Alternatively, it could be sitting in a yard somewhere being broken. I...

Looking for advice on strut braces
Im interested in getting a strut brace for my e30. Its no track car, just a standard road car. Ive read and heard that they really improve handling but ive also read that they are useless. I think they also look nice in the engine bay. Anyone got one installed and can weigh in? Also, what brands/com...

Re: OEM Thermostat vs Aftermarket Febi, Motorad, Gates etc
Hi guys, On the hunt for a new thermostat, and just wondering if you think for this part it is worth paying the £70 OEM price vs the £20 aftermarket price? Usually buy BMW parts, but due to the simplicity of this part it has me wondering... Appreciate any experience or thoughts on the aftermarket o...

Re: Preventing a dashboard from cracking
Well, proper maintenance. I use Auto finesse interior products, anti UV and what not. Works well for me. My car is parked outside 24/7 without any kind of sunlight protection, at least the interior. Will be getting some windshield shades soon though. Do you recommend any particular products? thanks

Re: Bleedin' Bleeding
If im honest, I havent had a chance to get the car out recently due to the horrible weather. I bought a new matrix, not too expensive, the old one looked terrible when removed as is to be expected with such an old part. In your case, I doubt it is the heater valve which is the problem, the way to ch...

Would you recommend the 325 Mart? Ive also considered the smaller engines such as the 318. Think i need to go and test drive a few to see what I like.

Re: Bleedin' Bleeding
Ive had exactly the same issue as you, the heater is hotter when idling but is not very good on the motorway. The engine temperature suggested no problems as it sat just slightly past the middle. Had my heater matrix changed and yes it was very blocked. Not an easy job to change though.

Re: Ace Cafe Zone Meet 29th June
I think 'restomod' (as i understand it) is the best compromise. You can keep the original OEM look and character of the cars but you can upgrade things like the brakes as you mention and have the ultimate driving machine.

Re: Daily Recommendations In 3k Budget
Im very interested in a E46 330ci Manual but insurance worries me because they arent too expensive and the young drivers are probably crashing them everyday. Fuel economy wise i expect them to be terrible but Im just after a bit of fun. The E46 has a lovely shape and is one of the last nice looking ...
