I replaced my one back in May 2019. Cheapest place I found then was https://www.leebmann24.de/. Part number 64111375754. This is for the brown blower resistor.

Re: 325i Cooling System Query / Thoughts
Thanks Brianmoooore. So hopefully head gasket and a head skim and it should be OK. Would there be any chance of bent valves, etc? Given there would have been water in the cylinders when the car was started. After starting the engine when I checked the coolant bottle it was completely empty. It had b...

Re: 325i Cooling System Query / Thoughts
Well the saga continues. I took the car to a local garage who said it was a blocked radiator causing the overheating. New rad and water pump fitted and car was running fine. Flushed the coolant again. Took the car for a couple of runs and it was running fine. Not overheating, temperature gauge sitti...

Re: 325i Auto: Cranks but Not Starting
Hi BristolE30,
Short answer = No.
There was no other branding on it apart from BMW. It is an all metal sensor like the original one that I took off. The Meat & Doris sensors had a plastic body and just a small metal pin in the middle of the end of the sensor that points to the crank .

Re: Can you help confirm? CPS M20B20.
After the hassle I had with the CPS on my 325 I'd recommend going to BMW and getting the OEM part. I tried two Meat & Doria CPS and neither worked. New one from BMW and 1st turn of the key and she started.

Any ideas what else to check? Would the best starting place be to get the local garage to do a compression test & sniff test to rule out the head & gasket before looking at changing anything else?

Re: 325i Cooling System Query / Thoughts
The saga continues. After bleeding with the car on axle stands I took the car for a run today. All was going well. Came up to temperature and held at 1/4 for a bit. After about 10 minutes gauge started to rise and got to about 3/4 so shut off. When I checked coolant had been coming out the expansion...

Have you tried a spark plug connected to the lead from the king pin of the coil? Connect a spark plug to the distributor end of the lead from the king pin of the coil and lay the spark plug on the rocker cover. Try and start the car and see if you get a spark. If yes, then the issue is with the dist...

Re: 325i Cooling System Query / Thoughts
Thanks linke30.
Heater matrix is linked out as there is a hole in it (another job I need to get to).
Temperature sensor is just approx. 18 months old as I replaced the blue and brown sensors at the same time. I'll look into a new cap. Also wondering if the pump may be on the way out.

Squeezed the rubber hoses till no more air bubbles coming up in the expansion tank 2. Removed the small hose from the top of the radiator (the one that goes to the top...

325i Cooling System Query / Thoughts
Hi Zoners, I have a cooling system query / question for you. I thought I had a small coolant leak so I thought I'd use Radweld as a temporary fix. I then read that the M20 engine doesn't like it. So I've flushed the system by doing the following: 1. Drained coolant 2. Put in a coolant flush & toped ...

That confirms that the ignition switch is at least working in position 2, and that the ignition signal is reaching the ECU, and at least turning part of it on. It also confirms that no conventionally installed immobiliser is causing the problem. Any missing voltage at the coil, would only affect th...

Not wanting to hijack the thread but what pressure rating should the cap be? I've got the one with 14 on it so will look at changing it as I've also got the heater matrix bypassed just now as it leaks. In the E30 WIKI it says "For that reason, BMW introduced a new pressure cap, rated at 1.4 bar. If ...

Re: 325i Auto: Cranks but Not Starting
Well I gave up trying to find a good used OEM CPS so ordered one from the dealer. It was the CPS all along. So I...

Re: 325i Auto: Cranks but Not Starting
Still trying to track down a good used OE CPS. In the mean time I've been doing some more reading. On 'e30owners.com' in relation to the CPS it mentions the following in one thread: "turn it over on starter and see if rev gauge lifts, handiest way of diagnosing rather than part swapping etc". When I...

I didn't think it would be relay related as there is power to the fuel pump (fuel pump relay ok) when trying to start the car (tested with test lamp) and the ICV buzzes (power from main relay) when key turned to position 2. Not to worry, I've checked the following: There are 3 relays under the black...

Well. I've verified the resistance of the new CPS changes when it is placed near metal and it does. I re-fitted the new CPS to the car and measured the resistance of it while turning the car over to make sure it is detecting the toothed wheel (in case the new CPS wasn't lining up correctly). While t...
