Re: Dash Lights not working. Cant see my dials in the dark!

I fixed my dash lights while I had the instrument cluster apart. I can see the speedometer at night! I’ve replaced all of my instrument cluster lights now. Hopefully that’ll be good for a long time!
Thanks for your help!

I didn’t remove the steering wheel either. Too much work; no need. I’m glad you have your odometer back up & running!

Re: Replacement Odometer, drive cog.

I found some useful videos on YouTube for removing the instrument cluster and replacing the odometer gears. Several were good, but those by Dan Cronin and Bimmer Zeit were most helpful. Garagistic provides online instructions to install the gears, but I didn’t find them as helpful as Bimmer Zeit’s. ...

Re: Replacement Odometer, drive cog.

Saturday evening I installed the new odometer gears I ordered from Garagistic a couple weeks back. I definitely recommend their gear set. The installation went very smoothly, with the exception of what’s called the E1 gear. It’s very tight by design, but installs onto the spindle that comes off of t...

I went back to your channel and subscribed! I enjoy learning from watching restoration videos, but I’ve only subscribed to two. Yours is awesome and there’s a Swiss fellow who has a similar presentation style; let’s the work do the talking. Exceptional concept, huh! Thanks again for putting your wor...

Interesting! I was just looking at your YouTube channel today. I was looking for E30 info on how to safely remove my center console trim. Never found that kind of video, but the throttle body RestoreIt video was sweet!

It’s also well documented in the literature that vinyl graphics and other stickers add 10-30 bhp each.

Have you considered the fuel filter? I’ve experienced similar symptoms with a partially clogged fuel filter in 2 of my vehicles.

Re: How to “Fix” broken E30Zone wiki links listed in posts

My oldest son is a web designer, digital film editor etc. The one thing I know about the internet is nothing is as easy as it seems and a site like this one is very complex. I’m glad it works as well as it does, and that everyone is as accessible and helpful as they are. Please don’t take my posting...

How to “Fix” broken E30Zone wiki links listed in posts

I have run into an issue with broken E30Zone wiki web links in several older posts here on E30Zone.net. It’s been frustrating me until today. Today Brianmoooore showed me that to fix a broken wiki link just copy the link into your address bar and then edit out the word “zone” from e30zonewiki”. Hit ...

Re: Dash Lights not working. Cant see my dials in the dark!

You're correct that the broken links are as a result of the upgrade, and I don't think there's a simple solution to general forum links, but this works for old wiki links: "You just need to take out the zone part of the /e30zonewiki/ to get a link working again." I can confirm that removing “zone” ...

M10 Water Pump Replacement Tips Please

Good Evening, The water pump on my 1985 318i has started spotting my driveway. The car came with a new water pump and a few other uninstalled spare parts, so this was not unexpected by the previous owner (I presume). The PO did replace the radiator and all hoses with new OEM parts not long before I ...

Cheers Steve, they look a bit different, but worth a punt if all else fails. Hi Steve, I just purchased a new set of odometer cogs from Garagistic here in the States. I have 1985 MotoMeter gauges and live in Florida, so they were powder when I bought the car last year. I’ll let you know how they wo...

They're not , you know! They're on exactly the same circuit as the instrument cluster illumination bulbs, them anyway. Why don't they dim with the dashlights then? Ben Partial apology offered! I would have sworn that these bulbs dim with the other dash lights on an E30, but I checked on a loom toda...

Hello E30Zone Members! I have found this site quite helpful already! I purchased an ‘85 318i back in June 2018. I don't want to go brighter, it's just a case of: http://finaldecap.co.uk/images/E30Resto/DSC_3262.jpg Half the lights are duff. I'll probably just order them from BMW then and change them all. I mean they've lasted 20+ years anyway so it isn't like I need the LEDs for long life, just figured I may...
