Totally gutted. There’s not many people out there that would do for everyone what Steve would do. I talk to him most days and as usual chat crap to each other.

I feel like a seasoned professional yet I've not touched a car yet. Found a detailer/suppliers where I spent and hour asking questions that would have taken days on forums. This 4 stage kit will get you going: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing/polish/menzerna-250ml/prod_220.html There is enough in there to do a couple of cars as you dont need much. Each is progressivly less abrhasive than the other. then a decent hard wax to finish. Personally I used a spray bot...

Re: Machine polishing.

I've done a bit of searching and dual action is basically the old 'da' we used to sand a car down years ago but with the polishing heads it has less chance of damaging. It looks like my budget is too low so I'm looking at £150 but that's all in which I thinks quite good. I just want to know opinions...

Re: Un cracking leather?

Gliptone is the daddy. Cleanser and conditioner on eBay for £15, it make old cracked shiny leather look plump and new!! It's amazing, my wife's boxster has now got 90k on the clock and you could mistake the interior for 20k.

Re: Machine polishing.

What's the difference between dual action and rotary plus given a rough budget of £100 what can I get for that? I don't want to be spunking £100 on a machine then have to spend a further £50 on pads then another £50 on specific polishes.

Machine polishing.

I'm looking at getting a basic machine polishing kits for about £100 - it comes with compounding sponge, inter. sponge and a fine polishing sponge. What's the process I should go through? I've had my cars detailed but want to do Sarah's boxster and my 968 myself. I've got a clay bar, 3 stage maguire...

Id have a 944 anyday! I love 325s but would have to be special to beat a 944 but saying that for the price of a reasonable S2 you'd be buying at the top end of what a 325 would be.

Re: Porsche 944 S2

Thanks for the replies guys, it's certainly an interesting motor. There are some high milers about, but others with what might be high in terms of pure number, but low in terms of miles per year. I guess it's like an E30 or any older car, if it's got genuine history then you will be ok. Where about...

Re: Porsche 944 S2

I really like them Almost bought one in 2008 before I bought my bronze e30 but got outbid. IIRC as they are only 4 pot but large capacity they have a complicated balance shaft arrangement with belts/tensioners which needs periodic and expensive replacement. Cant remember any other particular issues...

Re: Porsche 944 S2

One of the main problems will be the price of parts, so you should buy the best.. or it will start to munch money! You'd be very surprised? Usual consumables are as cheap if not cheaper then some bread and butter cars. The only part that I've found to be expensive is the dash clock - I need one and...

Re: Porsche 944 S2

I think theyre a great car and very good value at the moment. Although Ive never owned an S2 I do have a 968 Club Sport which shares a lot of parts with the 944. Fettled right they are one of the best handling chassis around, only really comparable to the E30 M3 - I actually think the CS is a better...

Re: anyone tried autoglym ultra deep shine?

Ultra deep shine is harder to apply and remove but on certain colours can give a better shine. I did Sarah's boxster with it and it looked fantastic. SRP is very good and I love autoglym products as a whole but lets face it SRP masks issues in the paint that shouldn't be there. The swirls are still ...
