Just to add my experience. I ordered a 'Raceland' manifold for E30 6cyl (LHD) off e-bay approx 150ish but I received 'TA Technix' brand instead. I will abandon 6 in lines, for a while, this V8 sounds awsome :D

Thanks for the feedback. As I said it is difficult to say when plugs crack exactly as I only get aware of this either by misfire problems or the last time the engine stopped...i run mostly on gas though so this must be linked to the mixture ratio then I've seen it recommended to run plugs one grade ...

I think there is gaz flow regulator to avoid this.
Actually I don't know when exactly the ceramic coating (the one in the chamber) is cracking
I can't figure out why it's doing this precisely these last three months

My 320 '86 is destroying spark plugs..

Hi everyone, I own a '86 320i (LPG) which cracked yesterday its third spark plug in 3 months and this time damages are big. Cracked piston and crack in the head's chambre (that's what I noticed for the moment at least. I haven't opened the bottom yet). It has a '88 320 head on it - skimmed and...

Re: waterleak please help

Check the rear plastic covers at the side you get the water in. Pull it paying attention not to brake the top chrome plate. There are 4 or 5 plastic clips that fail with time and rain water gets in. Either new ones or some sanitary silicone seal will sort it out.

Glass can be removed from the units by a heat gun, but AFAIK, there is no source of replacement glass on its own. Just for information. You can put only new glass but it requires taking the old one which is glue-sealed and you have to pay attention not to damage the reflector!. The replacement I fo...

the gutter on the rear quarter it held in with three clips thats where i think it is coming from
I had this sorted 3 weeks ago but took me a month to realise where it was coming from. A little silicone on the clips did the job.

Apart from being illegal on open road, what are the drawbacks of using them on an E30. I'm sent in Borat's country for a year and it's dark as hell on the road :(

Thanks

Re: Viscous fan question

I'm affraid you'll have to trace your coolant. Where is it going ? It's either outside or in the head winkeye as said above - it's unlikely that a new viscous coupling go wrong. Mine has just 100 miles...maybe the silicone inside needs some time to get scrambled

Don't forget, the scale is not linear. The centre section is expanded and only covers a few degrees, so ANYWHERE in the middle section, as long as it's away from both the blue and the red is perfectly OK and normal. That is good to know, thanks Brian. With the new viscous coupling now everything is...
