Re: Welder
It basically means you can do more welding before the "overheat" kicks in.
The 151TE has a duty cycle of 60% @ 65 amps.
as a example, it means you can weld @ 65amps for 6 mins out of every 10 minutes.

The main difference between the two is that the 160TM has a higher duty cycle than the 151TE.
Powerwise they will be the same, 150Amps max from a 13amp 230AC single phase supply.....

Re: Coolant questions
Overheating is not a common problem on the 325i.
The problem stems from either the water pump or fan viscous failing, which are prone to failure just like any other part....
If the system is in tip top order, then there is no need for anything else other than normal coolant....

As Me and Pete have told you on Facebook, you can try the spare starter you have, but more than likely it will be a damaged ring gear, but as Pete said, you can use the flywheel of the E28 you've got coming.....

The engine type number should be within the red circled area, with the engine serial number just below the red circled area. The engine type number should be ...

Re: What Voltages Should I See
Answers:
1, 13.25 Volts at the battery with the engine running is fine, <12.8, then start to worry.
2, the 0.3 Volt difference is caused by resistance in the extra wiring and components that the switched live has to go through.

M54B22 improvements.
Evening all....
Been asked to look at "improving" a M54B22.
are there any basic mods that can be done to this engine, ie, manifold swaps as such.
Thanks.

Re: Black smoke from exhaust [324d], possibly EGR valve?
As far as I know, there is no EGR valve on the M21B24.....
Black smoke at high revs from a diesel is normally to much fuel. there could be a problem with the fuel injection pump.

No, M3 screens are bonded to the screen frame, and are therefore slightly bigger than the type that are fitted with a rubber. and I don't think there is enough frame work exposed the bond the screen on the touring.
