Keep at it mate, it's worth it in end. My M52 project has been going nearly 2 1/2 years now, had to take a step away from it for 6 months due to work and a new house but I know it's always tucked away in the unit ready for a tinker here and there.

Say what. If you're sure the block has never been subject to overheating then give it a try without the timeserts surely?

I think I read somewhere that as long as it's a fixed based the seat is ok. You'll need the washer jets mounting to the wiper arms if you have a fibreglass bonnet without the holes for them.

Do a search I think there's a thread from a while ago about the differences but I'm sure someone on here with first hand experience of using them both in an E30 is that the normal rack is dangerously light steering.

Assuming that not only are the keys locked in the boot, but the entire car is also locked.

I live near Poole Grammar School, drop me a PM next time you're about, got my track car's MOT week after next so hopefully that'll be another E30 back on the road round here!

Yokohama AD08 or Federal 595rsr are loosely in the same category as Tokyo r888 but quite a bit cheaper.

I always wondered why American EBay listed import tax as £0, I guess its down to the discrepancy of the seller if they can be arsed to pay customs charges. Ive never bought from someone who has, hah!

Euro car parts stock the 6 series mounts for about 30 quid. If Pelican use USPS for postage then you'll get stung by parcelforce for an £8 handling fee and VAT if not already paid for by Pelican.

Re: rear brake upgrade suggestions please

I'm fairly certain DanThe sells some adapters so you can run 540i rear calipers. The problem with that is getting a pair of e34 540i rear calipers, otherwise a good upgrade. Best is E30 M3 due to the larger internal bore compared to an M20 exhaust.

Steering linkage would be beneficial. If you want to use that gearbox then you'll need to source another diff as the E34 one wont fit and your original E30 one won't suit the gear ratios.
