My motor has proper BMW ones which are quite hard plastic.

They scrape on the floor during enthusiastic cornering!

Re: E30 Cabrio from Cali

Awesome cars pal... Have you managed to go round Laguna Seca in an E30? If you have - i'm jealous winkeye

I love Cali, me and the Wife get over there as often as we can. Usually end up with a 300C rental car to cruise around in!

Re: Overfilled oil

BTW, it looks like Bilun777 may have thought i said 57mm over max. It is 5 to 7 mm over so not quite that bad.

I only noticed the puff of smoke at work this morning when I started it. I assume that once some has been drained out, the extra will burn off and the puff of smoke will dissapear?

Re: Overfilled oil

Thanks Chase - I realise that I need to drain some out....I'm not quite in Trigger's league.

Its just that I cant do it until I get home and I need to drive the car to get it home. I was wondering if it would bugger it up driving it.

Overfilled oil

A friend of mine (ahem :o: ) has an E30 325i Cab being a bit of a bell end, he has overfilled the oil slightly. The oil level is now about 5-7mm above the max mark on the dipstick and you get a nice cloud of blue smoke on startup which stops soon after. Have I - I mean has he  - buggered anyth...

Re: Honey I shrunk the E30

I think cars these days have to be 'pedestrian friendly' which is why they are starting to all have the bulbous noses like the Peugeot 407 & the new Focus. Looks shite I think. If a pedestrian is stupid enough to step in front of a car, tough! At least with an E30, they would be mowed down by a nice...

Whoah! There are some interesting pictures there! Especially the Skylines..

I assume that when you fill a car with airbags and impact beams and NCAP stuff, the overall size has to become bigger??

Am I right in thinking the new 1 series coupe is E30 sized? Might have to start saving...

Re: convertable roof

Make sure there are no creases in the back window when you put the roof in the stowage space. Take your time and make sure the window has folded neatly.

Otherwise you will get nasty marks on the back window that will annoy you!!

Re: Just how bad is the MPG with a 325?

My 325i takes £50 to fill it up, I can usually squeeze 250ish miles to a tank full. Some careful driving, some flat out driving. The straight 6 sounds so nice at full chat, I cant resist nailing it! I have just had an inspection II done and I think this has made the economy slightly better. Maybe ...
