Re: WIW - 325i maroon
Cool, thanks pnd. Spoke to my friend, and the panel behind the license plate was changed and sprayed professionally because it had rusted. I've had a look, and it's a perfect job. So yea, you were bang on the money with that prediction! You know the cars well then? Hehe 8) Recent history is there, B...

Also, can any of you tell from a photo of the diff, whether it's an LSD or not? Sorry mate, I left my metal piercing x-ray specs at work today! :( Will get back to you tomorrow. Regards, Clark Kent. Hehe, sorry! I just assumed there'd be a difference in the diff casing. Anyway, Clark Kent doesn't n...

WIW - 325i maroon
Hey guys, just a quicky: I've been asked to sell a friend's 325 and I don't know what it's worth. I suspect it's worth a little bit, because: 325i H reg, maroon. MOT until end of March. Factory fitted sports kit. Premium sound system, including factory tweeters in the mirror housings. No rust except...

Apart from that spot of rust he mentioned, it should be cool I gather the fuel lines tend to rust: where are they located so I can see if they need replacing asap? :D Anyone know how much air-con gassing costs? Never had it before! The M5 looks awesome: I'll bet you hav...

Just won the bidding on this: I still have to inspect it, and as I couldn't view it he won't hold me to the sale unless I'm happy it's as he described.
But, ceteris paribus, this is my new car: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... RK:MEWA:IT

Whats the best e34 525 auto year/model to get? I was gonna get another e30 325 but since seeing 525 and how much more room you have i'm gonna get a e34. In terms of engines, anythig post 1990 has the 24v Vanos engine - more economical and developing 192bhp as opposed to 170 (as in E30 325). 1995 on...

Fantastic. :D I learned some great stuff from John Burns' sight: The 24v has a camchain and rarely goes wrong. My plan is now this, having read that sight: BMW 525i se (sport if at all possible) up to £1500 (there are amazingly some with FBMWSH at that price!). When I get it, first thing I'll do i...

Re: Is there an E34 forum?
I reckon auto will be better for my fuel usage and town driving Do you mean you're trying to waste as much fuel as possible? Autos use a lot more than manuals. Don't buy a 520i auto 8O 8O They're that bad? :( I'm buying a 525 anyway - manual is preferred, but autos seem to be cheaper and much more ...

Is there an E34 forum?
Hi guys, just need a little help finding one. I've searched on Google for one, but I can only find bulletin boards - no actual forums. I'm looking for an E34 525 (auto or manual - I'm 19 and like to drive, but I reckon auto will be better for my fuel usage and town driving.) Either that, or could an...

If this is illegal, please just delete it, but I'm stuck on pricing my 320i se. E plate Delphin Grey metallic, 10months MOT (£100), just had an inspection one at a specialist (£210). 4 good tyres, MINT interior - the cleanest I've seen on one of these. 104k miles. It has both computers, no elect...

Inspection 2
Anyone had one of these done on a 1988 320i recently? How much is it likely to cost from an indy specialist?
I've been using a lot of fuel (well, not me personally) recently, and she sounds a little tappety. Starts and runs perfectly, but the inspection light is on.
Thanks!

320i is a cruiser. It isn't geared to be nippy (pulls best in 3rd above 4000rpm) ! Likewise, stick to 70mph on the motorway and you should get nearly 40mpg. Doing anything else anywhere else tends to drink petrol. Tell me about it! Anything above 70 or below 60 causes huge sucking noises. Added to ...

How awful is awful, 30mpg? or 15mpg. A basic service and check of the engine should get it running better. does it miss fire at all, is it hard to start, does it idle properly? Sorry, should have included that info. It starts first time, idles perfectly and seems smooth. At a push I can get 30mpg o...

My 320i has pretty awful fuel consumption, and isn't that nippy for a Sounds about normal for a 320. I get the impression that this car is a bit lacking in servicing? Just because it's a Ԛ£700 car it doesn't mean that it should be maintained to a standard anything less than that for a Ԛ£7...

My 320i has pretty awful fuel consumption, and isn't that nippy for a 2l. Apart from getting Ant's chip (Which I will try and buy soon) what can I do? Does cleaning the injectors do anything? What other 'in tank' or cheap options do I have? It's a Ԛ£700 car, so I don't want to get it serviced p...
