some peole are brand snobs and will only put things that are stampped "BMW" on their car. a filter is a filter, it takes the crap out of oil period. if you need a brake servo you can always use the golf servo, or a clio servo works too !! the e30 shares parts with a few models anyway, VW, Volvo .......

its a weird one IMO
oil is better for dissapating heat.
antifreeze is just a fluid with the same properties of water except wont freeze.
however both are in a confined space in contact with a small surface area.
i would go for oil, simply because it will prevent corrosion.
