Re:
Exporting the Car from Germany isn't just as easy as buying the car and driving it over. Depending on where you live. It has to do with the German Plates. I used to live in Munich and bought a 911 when I was there. When I moved to the UK I just packed up the car and drove it back. (Averaged over 200...

Re: Baby seat in Touring?
What you have to realise is that the requirements over here are different to that in Australia. The Child seats in the UK are "Not allowed" in OZ. They have different laws regarding the type of seats / anchorage used. In OZ you need to have a seperate "central" anchoring point. In a saloon this is u...

Removing White Dials?
How are these sets installed. I bought my Is which already had them installed and I think they look crap 8O . I much prefer the originals. Are these just stickers that are placed over the original dial (which I can remove) or are they the facia of the dial as well? One thing to note is that when my ...

I used to live in the land of Beer and Bratwurst, While I was there I owned a 911 Cab :D . Just had to try to top it out on the AutoBahn. With the roof up I saw 250 kmh on the speedo (155 mph) with the roof down only managed 235 kmh (144 mph) and it was damm noisy. The funny thing I found when I was...

I have also been to the museum in Munich as I lived their for 18 months. The Museum is OK not really worth a long trip. However if you are going that way, you could make a road trip of it and visit the Porche Museum in Stuttagrt. The museum is nothing much, however if you book in advance you can als...

Re: e30 wheel offset
Tim-ix where are you based? I have a set of 16 x 7.5 ET 35 with 205/45 tyres on 2 of them that you can try out to see if they fit. They are just cluttering up my garage at the moment. Until I decide to sell / fit them to my iS.

Re: Wheel Centre Cap "Badges"
If you look at the colour of the blue in these from Ebay, it seems a lot darker blue than the original ones. Has anyone purchased these? Do they look OK?smithy318i wrote:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-Wheel-Center- ... dZViewItem

Wheel Centre Cap "Badges"
Has anyone ordered any of these badges off EBAY. If so how good are they. I have a set of alloys that require a 60mm badge, so I can't use genuine BMW ones. From what I can tell on Ebay they seem to be a slightly different colour than original especially the blue.

I have a scorpion DTM stainless on mine. The only problem with this is that Scorpion didn't make an exhaust for the Is? 8O It was on the car when I bought it and sounds really good, the only thing that I don't like about it is the twin DTM style Tips they look to big ( to chavvy for a 4pot ) for me....

Best tyre size for 16 inch Rim?
Just purchased a 318is :D :D which is running ugly :( ( in my opinion) 15"alloys with 195/60/15 tyres. I also have in the shed from my previous 320 a set of 16" alloys that I want to put on the Is. These alloys currently have 2 good 205/50/16 Avon Tyres on them. So the question is do I go for the sa...

I am running 7.5J 16" ET35 with 205/50/16 on. To get these on the front you need at least a 5mm spacer to clear the strut. On the back you don't have to worry unless your worried about the slight offset difference. This is something you won't notice driving unless your doing some track / hard driving.

Something similiar happened with my 320i. I had been stuffing about testing the Temp Sensor ( Blue One) and I did not connect it back up correctly. Started the car and it was fine so I went for a test drive. It was only a couple of miles down the road when the car started to misfire and jerk sudenly...
