IIRC I used an E36 one from as local breakers. Remember to get the plug and a bit of wiring with it,to splice into the existing loom

What pads are people running on their E38 Brembo's? Lurch I read somewhere the Honda S2000 discs have been used with the R32 calipers. IIRC R33/R34 skyline calipers are pretty similar to E38 Brembo's and use the same pad. Unable to commit at this time.

The barge has been neglected for a while and needs works when funds allow.

Waiting for a verdict on whether it's cost effective putting an MOT on it or opting to frag it and sell the brakes/suspension/diff/interior and buy a B10 V8,B3 or M5

Just wondering apart from brake fade on the track which I ain't gonna take my car on to is there any point in fitting bigger callipers and pads if all the wheels do is lock up? Larger diameter disks on there own allow the car to slow down further before you get "pad grab" I.E the wheels locking up....

All it does is increase the boiling point, and require more frequent fluid changes as it has a tendency to absorb moisture more quickly.

Re: Master cylinder upgrade

Some of those with M5x conversions are using 25.4 mm clio M/Cs with a spacer from the plastic winged cars.

I've no idea re other 7 series servo/master combo's fitments

You will get a noticeably firmer pedal with less travel which lacks "feel" if you move up to a 25.4mm M/C

Re: Master cylinder upgrade

E32 750 is the one you're looking for(25.4 mm)
Alternatively an E30 M3 one fits (23.?? mm)

BTW a stock M/C works fine with 4 pots and the M3 one works fine with 6 pots
M3 one has a 10mm and a 12mm outlet,so.you'd need to make up a new line.

Re: Anyone using E38 brembo 4 pot calipers

Craig,
On my old E38 setup with 302mm disks, I ran a 30mm spacer so the wheels remained inside the wheel arch and cleared the caliper.
I could've probably gotten away with just using a 25mm spacer though

IIRC the the wheel was a 7"x 16" ET15.
I'd need to double check the ET just to be sure though.

Re: Oil cooler hose diameter

If it's a 6 pot, then use the Mocal take off and blanking plate with a remote filter head and new cooler.

You'll then be able to specify fittings for 1/2" or 5/8" I.D hosing.

Re: Is my 325i diff LSD

Some early sports had the 3.64 fitted with the CR gearbox.
Easiest way to check if it's a slipper is to jack up the rear of the car, turn 1 wheel and see if the other turns the same way.
If it does,then it's a slipper.
If the other wheel moves in the opposite direction then it's an open diff.
