Hi Mathew, only just read you post, I've been reading about auto trans on the 318i tonight and it says it is a four speed For your year of car ?The filter for the transmission fluid is in the oil pan of the gearbox, hope this helps but I expect it's to late ...!

That's a sad tale, but we all learn from our mistakes...nice motor.
I had a elan +2 back in the 70s but had to sell it to help me buy my first house ( which my ex got.. ! ) I always regretted selling that, but I do love my e30

Welcome to the zone, if your going to modify the e30 then I would say go for the lowest mileage and rust free car you can then after driving for a while you will get a feel of what you want from your car , looks, power and handling...... I will warn you e30 s are very addictive and will empty your p...

Thanks Mart , its my daily driver and love it, my previous bm 's were 525i 1981 vintage and a 1996 e36 touring 328i but this is definitely my favourite body style out of all the beemers ( not quite as reliable though ) ....another picture before i had the hardtop painted

Yeah bottle tops were refurbed before I got it, and the summer mode is the reason I brought the car ,I just love the styling of the 30s especially with the top down........I got the Weismann hard top cos ' this is my winter car as well and after my heater matrix decided to leak last winter I by-pass...

Good luck with the new cluster , hope it all goes well, the only thing I had to do with mine was to swap over the speedo, the mileage on the new one was twice that of my old one ! It was a easy enough job to do, has the cam belt been changed ( in the past 4 years ? ) if not you really could do with ...

I had owned my cabby for just over a year my rev counter packed up, when I took the s1 board out I saw that the batteries had been replaced and when I looked through all the reciepts for the car I found the s1 board had been repaired about 18 months previous to my buying the car ! I soldered new bat...

I read that it's the foam backing underneath the dash that shrinks with age ( like us all ) that causes the dash to crack don't know how true this
