thanks for the tip....head has been pressure tested allready and all ok..valve guides on cylinder no one and two are worn...some scars on the cam bearings/journals...looks like im better of looking for another head...getting one from a friend who is swapping his for a M30...will need to check that f...

thanks for all your reply.....ok i m getting the rocker shaft too....my concern about the combustion chamber is its alittle rough and matt in colour opposed to polished...is this ok or do i need to polish it or do i need to find another head...im worried about carbon build up.....but correct me if i...

thanks for the comments guys....what can i do from here....i have cleaned the head with chemical then pressure tested for cracks and resurfaced it 6 thou and the head height is 125.05mm after that..lastly sandblasted it except the gasket surface.....my worry is the combustion chamber ....pls advice....

sandblast cylinder head

i send my cylinder head to the machine shop to be resurfaced and they recomended me to sanblast it.question is when it came back they did sanblast the combustion chamber as well and its like met grey colour and alittle rough.is this ok....pls advice...or do i need to polish it...

i just puuled out the valves and valve springs out today and found out that the bigger spring is slightly shorter than the smaller spring.is this normal?

i need a RHD 325i 91 (M) sport with full option(abs,obc,obd) vin number as im swaping my M40 for a 325i sport from a Japan spec LHD (A) 1990 donour car.i need a vin no to order parts for manual RHD spec preferebly with '380' ecu.can someone help me out here.thanks in advance...

can someone advice me which fan to use for my m20b25 swap 9 or 11 blade as i live in a hot climate country...as far as i checked the 9 blade item is 420mm and the 11 blade is 410mm...is there and diff?has anyone tryed...

the engine loom is the same just that the loom after the c101 to meter cluster is too short.....im gonna try use the one from my m40 and see if it works .....any idea?

m40 to m20b25

nice to c someone who is swaping a m40 to m20b25 cause im doing the same at the moment.my car is RHD and the donour car is LHD.will the facelift 325i engine loom work perfectly if i just connect it to the c 101 cause the LHD loom to the meter cluster is shorter?

i changed my M40 injectors to 520 M50 ones 2 years back without any adjustments.Runs fine till today.The M50 ones have 4 pintles oposed to the M40 single pintle ones hence it fills up the combustion chamber better.u will get better mid range torque.

1)standard 318i - 31 12 9058 815
2)up-rated 325i - 31 12 9058 931

i dont know if they are physically different.....

hi,i live in malaysia n own a e30 318i rhd and would like to swap the engine to a m42.the problem is its allmost impossiblemto find a e30 m42 arround here and only the e36 m42 is available.my question is can i fit the wiring loom from the e36 without any modification?has anyone done this before?pls ...
