Re: Proof of date of manufacture to bring forward historic vehicle status?
I've been counting down the years until my car becomes tax/MOT exempt but then discovered that as my '89 car is an import it was officially first registered in 2016. I probably won't live to see it become historic. Gutted.

I don't ever use my AC for this reason. I can't say I've ever struggled to climb a hill but the power loss is noticeable. That coupled with the overly raised idle just makes it a pain. I guess it's fairly primitive technology.

The second pic could be the connector for an OBC 'gong' , the first may be for the airco' idle control, but not sure on either! Definitely nothing to do with headlight leveling system.

Also a preview of something in the pipeline, my M-Tech 2 tailgate spoiler had seen better days distorted by internal corrosion of the metal base frame , I did try a Lithuanian version but it was very poor quality and didn't fit properly as the lip was too big and fouled the roof, so I sanded my ori...

It's not the best place to find rust! I think I'm right in saying that the fuse box will have to be removed, which involves stripping the entire interior and removing the in-car loom.

Re: Gravity performance SS back box anyone?
You need to tread carefully with after-market back boxes. Quality and fitment can be suspect, as can the noise, and any claims of power gains should be taken with a pinch of salt. If you're after a tried and tested chav cannon then Scorpion is probably the way to go.

Re: Mystery connector
Hard to tell from the picture but it's more than like to do with emissions. If your car is fitted with a cat' then this would plug in under the throttle body and go to a charcoal canister bolted to the inner strut tower. If the car has no cat' then it just dangles free. Probably nothing to do with y...
