Convertible Car Cover
I had a new soft top fitted to my 320i convertible (it was from Car hood warehouse ”“ amazing company and top quality job). The car spends quite a bit of time outside. After the disaster with the full car cover (will put a link to my other post if not already seen it), I am very sceptical of car cov...

Re: Soft top
I was in the same position as yourself a couple of months ago. I asked and Car Hood warehouse was recommended to me. It is in Chessington, and was a 370 mile round trip for me, but if your going to get your roof done then its good to get it done properly. No one want a leaking roof so for peace of m...

Re: Startling MPG
Manufacturing techniques and materials have improved over the years, so I guess if modern components (liners or pistons) were used on the engine rebuild then there may be less rolling resistance/friction in the engine? Or maybe the fuel is higher octane number? Or more likely the mileage odometer mi...

Re: What the ...... Car Cover has Ruined my Bonnet!
Sorry for the late reply. The bonnet was really quite faded before. So the dark marks are the stains from the car cover and the light (white marks) are how it originally was. The car cover was £10 and the quality wasnt great. It ripped the first time I put it on! So the white marks aren't from the c...

What the ...... Car Cover has Ruined my Bonnet!
Last week I put the car cover onto my car when my car was wet. This sounds like a school boy error but my convertible roof leaks. When I took the cover off I was horrified by the bonnet. It looks like my car is turning into a ninja turtle. I have left it for 4 days and it looks no different. If I sc...

Not yet. Will do. Thanks. I understand that there are 2 dash bulbs, so assuming they are both wired in series then it sounds like it could be a fuse.

Re: Best anti theft device for E30
Thanks for the help guys. I like the idea of earthing the fuel pump. Not actually sure what my immobiliser is, but the cobra site looks useful. I watched a video about the disc lock steering lock and I don’t understand how it works. The video demonstrates that the lock fits over the steering wheel a...

Dash Lights not working. Cant see my dials in the dark!
I bought an e30 cabriolet about 6 weeks ago and i'm still fixing bits on it. At the weekend it was the first time I had driven it in the dark and the dashboard dials were not illuminated so I cant see how fast Im going! I tried rotating the head light nob clockwise and the dash lights still dont wor...

Best anti theft device for E30
Hi, I've got an E30 cabriolet. I love the car (and ive spent some money on it now!) and that's why I really don't want anyone stealing it. So that brings me to my question; what is the best anti theft device? The cars got an immobilizer but it doesn't work and I don't think its gonna be a quick fix....

Re: URGENT help please. Mystery Bracket
My car is a 1990 E30 cabriolet. I believe it is a facelift as it has a separate coolant tank on near the right wing (if this is the right way to identify it!?). I've put it all back together and runs sweetly, must be the weight saving of not having that bracket or the fact that the timing was about ...

URGENT help please. Mystery Bracket
Hi, I'm replacing the cam belt on my 320i E30 with the M20 engine and I might have been abit careless and dropped a "mystery bracket" without knowing where it came from. I found it balanced on the water pump pulley I think so must have dropped from somewhere above there. I need to get the car back t...

Re: E30 Cabriolet Electric Windows Faulty
Cheers Andy. Well not actually sure whether mine is the facelift. It is 1990. I did a google search of pre-post facelift for the E30s and I couldnt actually see any difference, but I'm aware that mechanically there is alot of difference. Its good to know that the pre and post facelift doors are inte...

Sorry to keep asking questions, but in my bmw manual it said that if all the windows are down then you have to put the rear windows up first before the front windows? What if I didnt do this? Cheers

E30 Cabriolet Electric Windows Faulty
Hi, I bought myself a 320i E30 cabriolet. Something seems to be up with the front electric windows. I think that the front left is jammed as the window buttons dim but nothing happens. And as for the front right window naff all happens when thats pressed, so probably a switch or connection issue? Al...
