in the process of trying to sort a diff out. im looking for some information, what sort of power are the e30 diffs good for? is there a different between small and large case? i need something that will not break with lots of power, but dont want to use a m5 as there very heavy. and can the diffs be...

biltel you have a 325i, at last a car that you wont have to worry about rust. why not do what i did and stick the mitsi turbo lump in the 3 series. :cool:

thanks for the link, there is some very good info to read in there. think i will be remaking my cross member and all the mounts. and make some new rose jointed suspension arms. would have thought that those mods are something a few race car owners would have done. :D

am now about to start rebuilding my track car, have now decided to do away with the heater matrix, and whated to know about heated front screens, ie who makes them and how much. i see demon tweeks sell them but dont list one for an e30. thanks.

hi
i changed my my 316 over to manual, i didnt need to change the pedal box. there is already fixing points for the clutch pedal, so all you need is a pedal, master cylinder, the long bolt and the spring.

ive been offered a 3.25 ratio lsd small case, from an e30 323. didnt think these existed. does any one know how much talk these small case diffs can handle? is 400Ibs of torque to much through one?

thanks may explain the weight of the diff, the 3.91 wont be any good, reason why is that my car has a jap engine and box in it, and the ratio from the starion is 3.54, but i thought that since my car was stripped out and will have alot more torque, i could run a lower ratio. 3.91 just revved up to q...

have just taken my 3.91 open small case diff out of my 316, and had a 535i E28 3.07lsd to fit. i read somewhere on this site that it would fit in, (with correct driveshafts) and that the back cover can be changed, have found that the diff wont fit as theres a cross member in the way, which i would h...

just out of curiousity. i have a 535 lsd that i want to fit to my e30. but the rear cover is 7bolts and the e30 i have is 5 bolts. also the diff seems to be slightly longer. its also a 3.07 ratio, anyone know what car it may have come from. still has the tag on it.

whilst replacing diff and trailing arms, ive thought it a good idea to replace my rear beam rubber mounts with supperflex poly ones. trouble is after removing the 4 allen key bolts and 2 main bolts i cant seem to get the beam off. is there any other bolts anywhere, or a special way to getting it off...

thanks will have a look at the link now. my mirrors did work, but have taken them out now. there was just nothing. if i turn the position switch on to any number nothing happerns. have also replaced this with one i new that works. its getting to the point when im thinking of just ripping the heater ...

ive got the same problem. mine stopped working when i put my new engine in and loom. fuse is ok. havent touched the wiring, have replaced the switch, but still nothing. any ideas. thanks
