What is recommended for an '89 M30 with about 140k miles? There was a bit of oil coated on the inside of the oil pan, but I cleaned the most of it out. No blockage at all in the oil pump screen, but the oil drained out was quite black. Also, is Redline MT90 a good choice for the transmission? Hi, F...

How about the Wilwood front kit? It's about $1000 American dollars, but they could be worth it. You get drilled and slotted 2-piece rotors, Goodridge stainless lines, aluminum brackets, lightweight Wilwood Billet Dynalite II 4-piston aluminum calipers. Kits come with Wilwood Polymatrix/Ferodo DS 250...

Spoke to them about a year ago, none of them will fit rhd cars.
Hmm, good thing mine's LHD. :D Perhaps I should just e-mail them, and see what they say. Although, I hate e-mailing companies like that cuz most of the time they never give you an answer.

Stahl headers?

Can the ones for an e34 535i be used with an M30 swap? I've heard that you normally can use the e34 downpipes, and these headers have all the piping on them going down to the cat. Could anyone possibly know the answer to this?

Okay, cool. That's in the timing cover gasket set I'm going to get. Does it come out the back of the cover or the front? I don't wanna be pulling on it in the wrong direction.

On another note I did get the balancer off. Just needed a longer pipe and a bigger hammer. :P

Nah, I haven't checked with the stealer. They're too far to drive anyways though. I'll probably just get all my stuff from theeurodepot.com The timing cover set they sell comes with some kind of seal, but I'm not sure if it's the cam seal or not. It looks like it could be though. Is it the seal that...

Thanks for the help guys. I'm gonna try a longer piece of pipe tomorrow. Andy, thanks for offering to lend out your tools, but I'm afraid that it won't help me much. Seeing as how I'm in America and all. :P lol Very kind of you to offer though. As for those gaskets, I've got the oil pan gasket. What...

Umm, I think I found what info. I needed in there. lol Although, I need to convert it to standard. I don't have any feeler gauges that are metric. As for the timing chain I haven't gotten the balancer off yet. I've got the top cover off though. I've got about a 3 foot section of angle iron bolted to...

i used an '89 316i. and a '90 535i auto engine and complete harness. there aren't problems converting a 535i/735i from auto to manual in original shell, and similarly my engine runs perfectly with a manual box and no auto ecu connected. in fact it plugged straight in and started first turn of the k...

Potential problems using 735i harness?

Okay I'm using the engine, ECU, and harness from an '89 735i. What problems or complications will I have putting this stuff into an '84 318i? I'm using a manual tranny, and the donor car was an auto. However, I don't think the TPS will be a problem. It still has the usual 3 pins/wires that will go t...

Okay well that's reassuring. I'll probably check out the pump and make sure everything looks okay with it, but I'll probably just not buy one for right now. Although, it will be a pain to change later on.

When to replace an oil pump?

Okay, I'm doing the M30 swap. I've got the motor, and I'm replacing some gaskets and things before it goes in. Should I go ahead and replace the oil pump, or not? The motor has about 150,000 miles on it. I could save myself 250.00 american dollars if I didn't replace it, but I'm just not sure of how...
