Re: Help choosing tyres on 325 convertible
Thanks for all your responses everyone. Twenty, as you say the 15"s are more expensive than the equivalent 16" now - not so much choice on the 205/55/15s either. After some deliberating went for the Uni Royal Rainsport 5s, based off the 3s being highly recommended on the E30 Wiki. £90 fitted - not c...

Help choosing tyres on 325 convertible
Hi all, Lovely new forum! I have been reading and reading but really just need to choose some tyres now, so hoping you can help guide me. The Uniroyal Rainsport 3's have come up a lot but I can't seem to find these anymore. A lot of the tyres recommended on the Wiki seem difficult to get hold off, b...

Re: MOT failure: front suspension ball joint issue - some ad
Thanks for the advice everyone. I think I will go down the route of replacing both control arms at the same time - just need to get the parts etc. Wish I could do it myself but dont have the tools, or space really! Previous owner actually had the car lowered as well, so now im debating whether to ha...

Re: MOT failure: front suspension ball joint issue - some ad
Thanks for the replies everyone. I won't be able to do this job myself, so the decision would be to replace the single ball joint, replace all three, or replace the entire control arm - both sides if required. Guess its all down to condition etc - unless anyone strongly recommends going down one rou...

MOT failure: front suspension ball joint issue - some advice
Hi there. Car failed its MOT today - the "front suspension has excessive play in a lower suspension ball joint offside front inner" - can someone advise on expected repair cost, and how big the job is?

Re: Car Stolen: BMW E30 325 convertible H182JLB
Literally, if I do bother getting another one I will have to go with Brians switch recommendation, and install a professional tracker. I imagine I should even start sticking a clamp on the wheel(s) and a bear trap under the drivers door. A garage is the safest solution, but living in London, these a...

Can someone help me solve my leak?
Hi, my 320 convertible chromie (auto) is leaking transmission fluid behind the gearbox. In the second photos you can see red liquid droplets leaking out of what I think is a screw. The pipe on the other pics is also wet. I am trying to work out what the problem is, but am not a mechanic by any stret...

Re: New E30: Advice on some problems
The reverse lights do work. What, EXACTLY, doesn't work in the instrument cluster, including service interval display? Thanks for the response Brian. The car has electric windows, and these do work. Actually the front ones were very temperamental until recently, but work every time now, so it sound...

The electric mirrors do not work - The cold and warm air do not blow - The rev and MPG bits on the speedometer do not work Lovely choice of car. Much prefer the facelift cabs. to the older ones. Do the reverse lights work? Thought you may like it, I saw that you have the same colour combination. Il...

Re: anyone know these cars?
Thanks, Ive pretty much decided to go for the Laguna green one, a lovely colour.
Never thought id like a cream interior however I think it suits the colour more than black would, so I think I'm ok with it
Could always look to update it in the future.

Re: e30 totalled whilst parked
...not much has happened with regards to the insurance yet. The third party insurance company are still trying to contact the owner of the vehicle that caused the damage.
Keen to start exploring finding a replacement though. Any e30 325 convertibles coming up for sale from anyone?

Thanks guys. The car is still in the same spot. Will definitely look to keep the car after the claim to recoup some cash.
Monday tomorrow, so will jump back on the phone to the insurance companies and start sorting this mess out.

Re: e30 totalled whilst parked
ive got pictures, but cant work out how to post em, :o: help appreciated. Thats the thing, the agreed value should be between myself and my insurer. As all liability lies with the other insurance company I should be free to ultimately pursue market value, which I think is a little higher than the AV...

e30 totalled whilst parked
Sad to say it, but last night a gang crashed their 420 M Sport at high speed into my 325 convertible whilst it was parked on the road infront of my flat (with me at home). The cars a write off. The 420 ended up jumping across the road and crashing front first into another block of flats opposite. Ev...
