1962 Galaxie 0 200 KPH speedometer lens or unit.

I have a friend in Pennsylvania looking for a 0 - 200 KPH speedometer lens for 1962 Ford Galaxie. Thought I would ask here since many of you all live where KM is a way of life.

Re: BMW speak

Great comments. I feel so confident now.

Now that I understand zimmerframes I may make a list of other terms I should become familiar with. Facelift for one.

Re: BMW speak

Yes, we could indeed get together but there are a few miles to cover to accomplish that.

I am really enjoying learning about this car and its complexities.

Zimmerframes? One of those BMW terms?

BMW speak

Been on here just a short time because my daughter bought a 1990 325i Cabriolet and I am storing it for the winter and getting it up to snuff for summer driving and shows. Being a Ford guy all my life the learning curve to BMW has me learning a whole new language of official and non-official terms. ...

Re: Rechargeable Torch

Great write-up. First I need to get one as my daughter's car didn't have one in it. I had to ask on the FB page what that connector in the glove box was for. I found some on Ebay so will try to get a good one. Looks like the white one is correct for 1990 325i Cabrio.

Re: Yank thinking

We will have the seat out replacing the leather. Doing the fronts first then get the rear done.

"Fiddly".... good word. I'm learning a whole new vocabulary on this site.

Re: Yank thinking

Thanks for your comments on the car. Not too worried about the funds it will take to get her all fixed up. It really has very few problems that I have found. Needs new oil pressure switch and brake pad wear sensors and I found both of those locally. The leather seats are the biggest issue that we wi...

Yank thinking

Last year my daughter picked up a very nice 1990 325i Cabriolet. For the winter it is stored in my extra garage. It needs a few things that I have been working on but in researching the car I find that the E30 is a much sought after BMW model. Being a life long Ford guy I wonder why. I know little a...

Rust

I notice lots of rust on the cars in Britain. Is that due to salt air? It is expected here in the northern United States due to the use of salt on the roads to melt snow and ice but I am a little surprised at so much over there. Just curious. My daughter's 1990 325i Cabrio has very little rust and i...

Re: Leather seats need some attention.

For my daughters 1990 325i Cabrio we are replacing the leather then using this product to maintain it. We will do the leather replacement ourselves. http://www.leatherique.com/do_it_your_self_instruction/rejuvinator_pc_directions.html The front and rear seats are in very bad condition and seams ripp...

The Galaxie photo posted there.

I started a registry of '62 Galaxies years ago. It now contains several in Europe. www.62ford.com/registry. If the link doesn't work, just cut and paste it.

Re: running on 5 from dampness.

Lift the hood (I guess you call it a bonnet) on some dark, damp night and have someone try to start the car while you watch the plug wires and distributor. I'll wager you see sparks jumping around. That will tell you what the problem(s) is/are.

Re: My daughter's 1990 E30.

Thank you willnz. Yes, the prior owner did not treat her well. It drives and runs great, just needs serious cleaning up and some tweaking in addition to replacing the soft trim interior. The body is solid with only minor surface rust underneath. Gonna be fun giving her a makeover.
