my 1988 325i has a problem with the idle.
on tick over its surging up and down not loads.

ive replaced spark plugs,dizzy cap,rotor arm,coil,exhaust manifold gasket
i have a spare 173 ecu ive swaped and still the same.

any ideas are appreciated.

i used m50b20 520i injectors in my 325i the spek figures of them are slighty higher than the m20b25 ones.
and there is some improvement in my 325i i think it down to the better spray pattern and fanning out for the fuel.

does an m20 have cold start valve or something like it.

because my 325i is kinda kangarooing when its cold.
its ok under accelleration.
but jumps when im letting of the gas
very similar to when you leave the car in a higher gear to long
ok when warmed up though.

that 14swg steel is no way strong enough mate

contacts are were clean i checked when i was refitting the motor.

never gave the relay a thought will check it over the weekend

and will have a look at the seal(will try some wd40 on it)

yes diesel in a petrol wil do no harm.
but petrol in a diesel and you will f.ck it up for good.

i no that the e36 m3 3.0l cam shafts are a straight replacment for the m50b25 ones.
