Re: Help ! - Brake line adapter
Thanks I think it may no longer be a problem because as I noticed that the Hel brake lines I have seem to use a universal flare on them and are the same thread. I checked the mating between the brake line and calliper by putting black marker around the concave part of the flare and winding it into t...

The engine was running fine before removing the head and under inspection everything...

Hi Unfortunately due to a cracked chain tensioner boss I need to replace my cylinder head... :( Im pretty sure I have most of the procedure down, my only uncertainty is the removal of the cams. I had trouble with the banjo bolt going to the power steering pump. This was because of the E28 M5 engine mounts though. I had to bend the pipe slightly. Not by much, just about managed to do it by hand so wasn't an issue.

So I've got the rack in, used the e28 m5 mounts and put it in the front mounting holes. There's plenty of clearance with the manifold so no need to shorten the steering link. http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn168/jamesetbentley/IMG_0111_zpswlq16gmi.jpg http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn168/jam...

Re: M42 chain tensioner oil leak
Yes I just found this last night. I think The previous owner didn't put a crush washer in and over tightened the chain tensioner in an attempt to stop the leak... There's a crack where you mentioned ! I'm going to try and use some Belzona molecular metal on it, see how that works.

Re: 318is E46 rack conversion
Right so Ive got custom pipes and e28 m5 mounts on the way so ill see how I get on. If not ill do the guibo delete and if that doesn't work ill try the corsa link.
Is anybody here using e28 m5 mounts , what notable difference do they make ?

Re: 318is E46 rack conversion
Moving the rack affects scrub radius, can be good for high power fast bend tracks but not so good for fast road cars. How exactly does it affect the scrub radius, does it make it more negative ? So is there a real difference between control arms from Lemforder and cheaper brands such as Febi. The Lemforder ones are quite pricey !
