Re: Rev matching M52
Cheers guys. I've just checked my paperwork and it's supposedly got an 3.64.1 ratio diff. Is that the standard 325i diff? Whatever it's got, it makes the car very lively & quick off the mark. I do like it but I have to be really on the ball with heel toe to not lock up the rear, I've had a few hairy...

Re: Rev matching M52
It's a 328 box, the one that was originally with the engine. What other (better) options are there?

Rev matching M52
Hi guys, I have an M52 engine conversion with an e30 325i diff, which seems fairly common here. Does everyone with this setup have to heel & toe on the downshift from high revs? Or are my engine & diff miss-matched in some way i don't understand? (if I don't heel & toe, I lock up the rear and slide)...

No tyre heater's I'm afraid.
I'll perhaps go for the medium compound as I do just as many sprints as I do track days.

Re: Federal RSR tyres splitting/delaminating
I did think they were pretty good on track and others commented on how well my car turns in at speed but my experience is limited. My test will be to go to Curborough sprint circuit. I know how exactly how quickly I can get round there on the Federals, in theory the Khumo V70 will make me quicker (h...

Is medium compound the way to go on these?
Bearing in mind I'd like to get a good few track days and maybe a couple of thousand road miles out of them.

Cheers mate, I'll look at getting a set of those.
After a quick search it looks like Demon Tweeks is the cheapest place to buy them.

Re: Federal RSR tyres splitting/delaminating
I had Nankangs on an E46 325i a couple of years ago and they were really good, but that was a 255 section on the rear so had loads of grip. My track car has more power than the E46 and is only a 195 section, so I want something pretty sticky.
I am really tempted to try the ns2r based on price.

Re: Federal RSR tyres splitting/delaminating
I've not heard of a road tyre needing a heat cycle either. I don't really mind that they have a crack in them, I just wanted assurance from my tyre supplier that there'd be no issues but they've just basically told me that they've spit because the tyre's not designed for my car and I've not heat cyc...

Federal RSR tyres splitting/delaminating
Hi guys, I run an E30 track car, weighing 1100kg. It has the standard 15inch BBS wheels, fitted with 195/50/15 Federal RSR tyres. I’ve had them on for about 8 months/2000 miles and a crack has appeared in each tyre, running from inner to outer side wall. I contacted the (reputable) company that I bo...

I have Gaz Gold on mine and they're brilliant, think they're about £600.
Not sure how low they go though to be honest, I'm more about cornering than low.

I think my MG fetish began when I watched this video. I always admired them but thought they might be a bit of a shonky drive, these look really good though.
Sort of like the Singer Porsches but for MG. I wonder how much they go for, not cheap surely!

Where did you get the rear drop links from? I really need to swap mine out.

Sorry, yes currently I have a bolt in full 6 point (I think) cage I guess by beefy cage you mean wrc rally car style with the reinforcing gussets and stuff? They look great! Cheers for the response. I do have a full cage, I'll have to take a look to see if its in the way. I can't find any mirror blanking plates for sale anywhere, so id have to make some. How was carbon fibre to work with? (Cut, finish, etc) You're e30 looks mega by the way, I'll have a ...

Re: whats better coupe or convertible
As far as i can tell by looking at the classifieds on Pistonheads & Carandclassic, the convertible is worth more and would probably be a better financial investment. I disagree. The only thing I will say is that so many convertibles have been molested that the values of the VERY few nice original l...

Hi Miles, just to clarify, your seat's side mounts are fixed directly to the floor? Re: Race Seat suggestions
I'm after something similar, Gus. I was hoping to find something that wasn't for sale in the US though because we'll get boned by the import tax.
Any ideas?
I recently ordered the OMP 'universal' seat mount from Demon Tweeks but it didn't fit properly so I sent it back.
