Re: Gearbox removal help
I've attached 2 images, got or had an oil leak. Any ideas what would cause the bell housing to be caked in oil? (Rear main seal just replaced before taking the pic) but leak looks like it may be from below distributor? Would that cause oil to get into the bellhousing? And so much of it at that.

Re: Gearbox removal help
I've cut them out. Can't find the part number for the square headed bolts on realoem or 7zap. The transmission mount bracket looks slightly different on the diagram. Any idea what the part number is or how to go about getting replacements?

Gearbox removal help
Hi, I have an E30 M10 318i prefacelift
What's the best way to remove the cross member at the back of the transmission?
The bolts just keep spinning, tried just taking mounts off hoping to manouvre it out but no luck the crossmember is in the way.

E30 Fuel tank connection
Hi,
I have just changed my fuel tank but the middle connection below the propshaft was completely corroded, I don't want to pay the silly price for a new one.
Any recommendations on where to get a cheaper alternative, maybe a stainless steel braided hose that fits etc?

Ok so little update I removed the afm opened it up gave a clean with electrical contact cleaner and reinstalled now throttle response is there up until 3k revs then starts going upto 3500 then drops down to 3k up and down even though throttle is fully down throughout. So it was the afm? Thinking to ...

Re: e30 m10 318i dies straight away
Yes I have checked under the car, instead of a fuel filter I just have a short metal pipe. Filter is now on order, not sure why someone would just put a pipe there like that considering the filters are so cheap. There is a fuel pump there which does make a noise when cranking. I tried starting it li...

checking on google seems the fuel pump relay is the single relay above the front passenger arch. I haven't done anything with this. How do I test it?

Re: e30 m10 318i dies straight away
I'll check the plugs after work, the only work done on fuel system was injectors cleaned, new hoses that go on top of tank and the one going to the tank. Fuel sender Unit was also changed recently. That's the only things done regarding fuel.

I have tried pressing the accelerator pedal most of the time it won't be responsive as in revs won't go up and doesn't hold revs and dies. The times it is responsive it will only b...

e30 brakes not working
E30 M10 318I, I had recently (long time ago, but never actually driven the car since) Bled the brakes as I put new (rebuilt) front calipers on both sides. Put the pedal box back in. The brakes feel stiff when car is idling but when I start driving the pedal goes straight to the floor and barely even...

Re: e30 electrical fault?
My car was sat in my garden since November. I haven't messed with any fuses or relays or anything electrical. Just decided to get it MOT'd so I can start driving it only to find this electrical problem out of the blue.
I have tried a new flasher module still no luck.

My m10 seemed to misfire at one point. Garage fixed it for free something about water in distributor cap iirc. Maybe worth a check see how healthy the cap looks inside.

Yh the one for each direction. So left when indicating left and right when indicating right. Would this mean the module in steering column needs replacing then?

i have a prefacelift 318i m10.
the front headlights, indicators and hazards don't work.
Would this be down to a relay, fuses or something else?
