Update.... took the car for a short run, parked it up on level garage floor for an hour or so, light cleared itself, all sorted

On a similar vain.... I have just replace my alternator (due to flickering dash warning lights as advised in another thread) now car starts and runs fine (warning lights no longer flicker... thanks guys!), BUT the engine check level light does not extinguish on the overhead check panel I disconnecte...

Hmmm sounds like the alternator then, all service lights etc are fine

Dash Warning Lights Help

Have a small but irratating problem with the brake hydraulic & battery charging warning light glimmering (only noticable at night or in the garage)

Car has no issues with either of these(fluid level is fine and car always starts)

Anything I should check?

Penetrating oil over several days, and don't apply too much torque. Grind or split the nuts off any that prove stubborn. All going well so far with all nuts removed bar one (2nd one in from front of car, underneath manifold) not the easiest to access Can you give a numpty some tips for grinding or ...

Tips for removing the Exhaust Manifold

Can anyone give me some tips and hints for removing the exhaust manifold as I want to replace the gaskets/heat shields (M20 Engine on a E28 525e though I may do the on the 325i to if succesful!) and the last thing I want to end up with is some broken studs!

Ok, so a replacement starter motor is the order of the day

How specific are they ie. will any M20 engine cars one be correct? or does it need to come from a late engined 325i manual etc?

Sometimes on turning the key, the starter motor seems to run over ie makes a nasty noise!

Is this the starter motor about to expire?

By yellow / black bases do you mean the underside of the cap when you have unscrewed it?

Want to get it right! Just aquired a Malachite Tec 1 Rear Spoiler off ebay (bloody rare in this colour!!)

Drills and Bodywork .... bit scary! :eek:

Brake Light Warning On Check Panel

On occasions I get the warning light lit on the check panel whilst driving, but when I physically look at the rear of the car they are functioning fine.

Is this a common problem, any connections etc I should look at?

Hi, Some rear screens are stitched in others are zipped.....as I found out! Sounds possible, but did your indicators work when the hazard warning light was pressed, when the were not working on the indicator stalk?
