Re: M50B25TU E34 Auto Engine Harness Question
It's RHD. So I'll either have to change the harness or house it in the engine bay then?

M50B25TU E34 Auto Engine Harness Question
Right, I'm a bit confused about the whole matter so I need some clarification. The ECU plugs for the engine and trans (I won't be using the auto part of the loom since I pair it with a manual box) is on the passenger side of the car. I'm under the assumption that's correct for an E34 harness. Should...

Re: A Few Questions Regarding Electric Fans
Saving me this time again Dan? Are you sure you're not sent from heaven?
87 sounds good, I could just swap it with another sensor should I need to go lower anyway. Shall I pm you? There's no urgency for this one

Re: A Few Questions Regarding Electric Fans
I've never thought about having a toggle switch to change the trigger point. Makes sense in my scenario when you see what temperatures we get all year round (anywhere from 0C - 45C).

A Few Questions Regarding Electric Fans
So, I'm now on the verge of dropping the M50B25TU in the '90 316i and the last thing I need to sort out is the electric fan. I've got a Nissens M40 radiator which has a blank plug on the driver side which I assume would be the place to house the switch and I've got a 14" SPAL Puller fan mounted on i...

Re: Converting E30 LSD 4.4 Diff to 3.64
It is possible to swap the ring an pinion from the same size case to change to ratio. I encountered this problem when I was sent a 3.91 LSD instead of the 3.25 I requested. I ordered the 3.23 ring and pinion from another medium case diff and had my mechanic swap them in and it works just fine. But w...

Re: Mods, photography thread ?
I happened to just get into DSLR photography when the first Drift All Stars event hit Malta in 2012. It was the first motor sport event I photographed and did it fully manual believe it or not. Sony A290 with a Canon FD adapter, 35mm f3.5 Canon lens and a 2x tele. It was, sadly, the day I also disco...

Re: Mods, photography thread ?
I'm a Sony shooter. A77 and A290 as backup. Quite an assortment of lenses, my favourites currently being the Sony 16-50mm f2.8 and Tamron 90mm Macro SP f2.8. I mainly shoot motor sport events here in Malta. the quality of this one was heavily reduced since it was uploaded to facebook. I'll get some ...

Re: 1990 316i M50B25TU (and more!) Project [Pic heavy!]
Thanks :) It's exactly that. In Malta you can find 3 brands, Suzuki, Maruti and Maruti Suzuki. Under the Maruti name they wait a few years after a Suzuki model has died out (or has been replaced by the next), rebadge and sell them for cheaper. Which is awesome because the reliability you get from th...

I run 17x8.5 195/45/17 fronts and 205/45/17 rears. My ride was pretty harsh but I'm giving credit to the bad Maltese roads and the heated front springs (from the previous owner). Runs fine on average surfaced roads though.

Re: E36 PAS Rack Swap - Hose Alternative?
My problem is I can't really wait much for shipping (I'm in Malta) and there seems to be a problem with inbound overseas post
I should be going around the shop right after work to see if I can get it sorted this way, if I don't, I have a backup plan. Thanks

E36 PAS Rack Swap - Hose Alternative?
I'm currently in the process of swapping my E30's power steering to an E36 power steering just before I drop the M50B25TU in and I've come across some problems. I have some hoses that are missing. The reservoir -> pump hose is present on the engine and still attached. However, I don't have the pump ...
