Re: Auto gearbox stuck in first gear
I wasn't monitoring this thread sorry. Yes after much faff i did get this sorted. Turned out that it was some sort of speed sensor inside the gearbox that was giving the wrong voltage so the ECU wouldn't change up. I had to take it to an automatic gearbox specialist and buy horribly expensive (for w...

320 Exhaust
I was looking to swap out my E30 320 OEM exhaust for a new stainless one. Wanted a nicer noise (not boy racer) so was looking at Resonated Back boxes. Wanted to know if anyone had done this and what they got. Have quotes around £180 for the back box (£140 straight through but think this will be too ...

So this was a relay in the alarm module. I took out the fuse by the alarm module that covers the faulty side and it works fine now.

It says BMW Part No: 82 11 9 418 407 and has an on/off key.
I think teh key just turns the sounder off.

When i lock my 1992 E30 320 (with the remote fob) all the indicators flash 3x times. Every now and then though, they all stay constant with the car locked and it runs the battery down - if you don't spot it. The indicators and hazards work just fine during normal operation, its just when i lock the ...

Re: Auto gearbox stuck in first gear
I disconnected the kick down switch and took the car for a test drive - it still refuses to change up into 2nd gear, revved until about 5000 before I backed off. I then took out the gearbox ecu and took it into the house. There's no sign of moisture/corrosion on or in it or on the connector so I lef...

Afternoon all. Does anyone know how i test the kickdown switch?
Is it a simple on/off switch? If so, I can use my multimeter to test it - but where do I access wires.
Thanks.

They look superb, as does that car. Thinking i may go the £340 route as i have 2 small children and no time. By the time i spend money on the cleaning products, dye and seal and then get round to do it - months and months will pass. My time is more valuable and besides someone will come and do it al...

Leather seats need some attention.
Has anyone any experience of getting their leather seats refurbished? My seats don't have any rips or tears but they are worn and need some attention. I can't decide whether a professional clean recolour abd seal would be a waste of money and I would end up having to get them redone anyway. So I've ...

Ill keep you posted but any help would be good.
