Re: Air-Con Compressor from E36?

Yeah I would have thought the compressor from the M40 would have bolted up to the M42 block... apparently the mounts are different...

Have you interchanged compressors from different blocks?

Air-Con Compressor from E36?

Hi People, My mechanic is mid-swap with my E30 from M40 to M42 and has found that the air-con compressor is not compatible from one to the other. My M42 diddnt come with the air-con accessories, so wondering if I source one from an E36 M42 or M44 if that would work? E30 M42s are quite rare over here...

Nogaro Euroweave Lip-finish

Hi Guys,

Struggling to get a clear answer in another forum so I thought I'd try here -

I'm Going to get my 15" Euroweaves refurbished and painted with Nogaro Silver centers, but what kind of finish was the outer lip at standard?

Machined or Painted?

Cheers!

Is my Flywheel Single-mass or Dual-mass?

Hi everyone,

I have an (australian) '88 318i with the M40 lump and also Air-conditioning.

Would this come with a single-mass or dual (twin) mass flywheel?

Realoem is confusing me lol.

I'm looking to do an M42 conversion and was gonna re-use the original M40 flywheel.

Thanks! :)

Re: loss of accelerations in m42

Thanks guys,

I only doing some of the work myself is using the E36 loom something a professional auto electrician can wire up without costing megabucks?

I'm happy to pay a little, just wanna make sure it's feasible to throw all the standard E36 gear at my local guy for the electrics.

Re: loss of accelerations in m42

Hi Everyone About to take the plunge and source an E36 (pre-95 M42) for a swap into my '88 E30 M40. One Big Question - does the intake manifold HAVE to be swapped to E30 type? I know it says at the start of this thread that you have to but I've read other places you don't. And I'm still not sure eve...

Hi Sanitroc1 (Steve), great tips.

What was your solution to the TPS pointing the wrong way?

How about with the injector rail bolt?

Would be good to find out all these hidden surprises before I get to them ;)

Cheers.
