Re:
the spring wont fall out somsafety not exactly an issue, as long as thet are not cut heated of cracked they will be fine. dips 346 has a few set of springs, send him a pm They obviously won't fall out but using springs designed for a heavier engine is never going to be the way to do it, unless you'...

Focussing on springs... Any 4-cylinder springs will give the stated drop on any 4-cylinder E30 as the 4-pot engines are all the same weight (give or take a couple of kg). You shouldn't see springs advertised for 318/320/325 as the latter two have a heavier engine and will give a different drop. As K...

I've seen a couple of 2.5 cabs on K plates. I've seen two L-plated cabs in total, both 4 pots so you may well be right about the cat Simon (that's the possibility of a 2.5 conversion for me out the window then!?). IMO a standard late 2.5 cab with that mileage is worth well over £4k. What I noticed...

Kit is effort as it needs to be sourced, painted, have holes drilled in the doors for the side pods etc. I'd say not worth it really. iS front lip as you have, a pair of sideskirts (or even painted sills) and the bottom (black) part of the rear valance colour-coded white makes the car look less bare...

You could put an M Tech II kit on it but it's a lot of effort. Really like the wheels, CID stylee   If you're interested in a set of 15" BBS X-spokes I have a set in my garage with nearly-new tyres  They're like the ones on my cab: http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/4013/aces33lx.j...

Not sure where to start. Number one has gotta be value for money - spend 3 grand on a tidy cab with leather and you can't buy more class for your cash  On a similar note it looks more expensive than it is. Other things I enjoy in no particular order: Still feels solid despite its miles. People...

Zayyan - I meant you are always the one to give a blunt answer! OK I'll accept that  The original post was trying to choose between a 325 and a 318 conv. I meant 32mpg (which is the average for all driving not just motorway) from my 318 is better than my 325 (late 20s at best) This I understa...

The 1.8 cab has a 4.27 diff meaning it's more than quick enough around town, though if you're using it for higher speed trips it'll start to annoy you, not least due to the fact the engine is at silly revs on the motorway (and economy also suffers). what utter rubbish... oh sorry I came over all 'Z...

Re: wheels
when BMW brought out the 318 iS 15" wheels were available ie the 325i sport and to fit these to he 318 iS would have been of next to no cost to BMW. In fact probably no cost at all as the contract with BBS was massive and the moulds were already there so again it was down to chassis engineers it do...

Who is "Jason in Walsall"?
I've heard this name pop up a few times as he's apparently a specialist in E30 electric hoods.
Anyone have any contact details? And if anyone's used him, what is his service like? It's a long drive considering the cab does about 50 miles a week

Re: wheel size
i am about to put 15" on my 318iS but know right now ultimately it would handle better with the 14's but it looks nice! As soon as you get them on you can post up here to tell everyone you were wrong  Having tried 14s, 15s and 16s it's between the 15s and the 16s for handling. Adding comfort ...
