Read, learn and enjoy. http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/index.php/Suspension Well that's a very daunting link! I'll have a read through it, although I don't know if its worth mentioning that my car just went through an MOT and Inspection 2, surely if there was anything severely wrong they would h...

Toyo Proxes T1-R seem to be a popular choice, I've just had a set put on my car. It's only been two days so too soon to give a proper comment, although the old mismatched part worn's that were on my car since I got it (which were completely shredded/bald on the insides) felt grippyer. The Proxes mak...

Re: HID electrical problem/fault
If I turn the sidelights on with the ignition on the check light for dipped beam comes on by the sunroof. Also the brake check light comes on but that resets as soon as I touch the brake pedal. I have exactly the same issue, but then I haven't even attempted to fix it as it all seems to be working ...

Ah right, sounds like you know your stuff, the car really shows that.
What was your previous car, did that get similar treatment in the detailing department?

Wet Vac for Interior
I'm looking to purchase a Wet Vacuum to give my interior a thorough cleaning. I'll only be using it on the carpets as I have leather seats. I'll probably remove the front seats whilst using it, but leaving the carpets in. Any recommendations? What soaps should I be using? This one has a lot of good ...

Also learn to use engine braking when approaching stops; Motronic cuts off all fuel if the accelerator is at idle but revs are over 1500rpm, which helps eke out a few more drops of motion lotion. Could you explain this please? I usually down-shift into corners, but I thought that there was no fuel ...

Re: MPG Clock/Needle
Hi Brain, I've had a read through the wiki on how to test this; To test the TPS, remove its plug and connect a resistance meter to pins 1 and 2. You should get a short circuit ( 0 Ohms) with the throttle closed, going open circuit with the throttle just off its stop. Pins 1 and 3 should be open circ...

MPG Clock/Needle
Recently the needle on the little MPG clock (under the Rev clock) has started to occasionally get stuck all the way on the left where it would sit whilst idling. It randomly happens, usually whilst I'm in 5th, sometimes it sorts itself out and other times I'll have to change gears. It happens when I...

Personally, I think all the wiring back there needs a good sorting out, I don't think using what's been left behind is a good idea. So that's what that thing is at the top left? Sorry about the delay, I manged to get the HU keys today. I took the HU and cage out completely and saw what a true mess the wiring really is. Re: Swapping Headunit (Wiring issues)
Oh right.
Currently I'm not running an amp, although I have a pair of 6x9's on the shelf and some tweeters bodged into somewhere which hang loosely off the dash which desperately need removing. I believe they are powered instead of the stock door tweeters.

I don't have the HU release keys on me, had to borrow from a friend which I gave back, will be collecting them again tomorrow so I will upload some pictures then. Re: tec 2 best color
Sterling or Granite Silver.
At first I preferred Delphin Grey but after seeing the above two in person I quickly changed my mind. Not much a fan of bright colours like red on cars. That being said, I haven't seen the majority of E30 colours in person.

Swapping Headunit (Wiring issues)
I'd like to change over the Sony headunit that's currently in my car. After taking it out yesterday, I was expecting to see a mess of spliced up wires, which I did see. Below is a picture of my new Alpine CDE-123R headunit. I've circled in red the connectors which my Sony headunit seems to be connec...

I've been curious for a while now about if my E30 actually has an LSD and if so what condition it is in. I've heard of people saying a quick and easy method to test this is to put the car at full lock and floor it. I tried this, got a little bit carried away and about after 5 minutes of actually sli...

Re: Exhaust pipes and lowered car
My E30 was lowered by what I believe to be 60mm by a previous owner, its so impractical and annoying. Going over speed bumps or any raised surface in the road most of the time I scrape the mid section of my exhaust (well, I think that's what it is). Sometimes I scrape my side skirts or valances goin...

I haven't noticed a single fault other than this apparent fault in the short amount of time I've owned it. There may well have been some issues recently that the previous owner didn't tell me about though, which wouldn't be too surprising. I was referring to the engine temperature (although not the ...
