Re: Different Problems
Time to take the cluster out, open it up, take out the SI board from the front half, and check the batteries. Note that there are two versions of the board - one has two 3V non rechargeable lithium batteries, and the other has two 1.2V NiCd rechargeable ones. Take out relay K7 in the fusebox, ident...

Differential type
I've got a e36 316i Compact for bangerstox racing. Now I've took the Tag of the differential and it says, 338V2562 I know 338 stands for the ratio 3,38. But what means the V? Can it maybe be an Viscous LSD? My e30 has the same though. I've asked this question once before on a dutch forum, but knowon...

Re: Different Problems
Temp. gauge, tachometer and econometer can fall victim to dud SI board batteries in the instrument cluster, but it doesn't normally affect the fuel gauge. Do the service interval lights work properly? The heater problem could be related to the engine swap. Are you sure it gave problems before the c...

Different Problems
I have a Little oil leak at the sensor on the outtake side of the engineblock. I think it is the Oil pressure sensor? I don't know if this is a common problem for E30's. But that should be fixed easely. And I got some electrical problems in the dash. My Temp gauge, Fuel gauge, and the tachometer are...

Re: Water in the boot
I also have had problems with water in the boot. I had several leaks.
* I have an original spoiler (that rubber thing) And that's bolted on. 1 bolt was missing.
* When I removed the rubber of the trunk, There was an little hole due to corrosion.
* And water came in at one bolt of the bumper.

Re: Drive shaft
Assume you mean the shaft that runs from the gearbox to the differential? We call this the 'propshaft'... Rear part is common to all E30's,front differs with gearbox/engine. But; The join between the two halves can be adjusted,so you may get lucky,by sliding the two bits in or out. Yes, I meant the...

Re: Drive shaft
What's wrong with the M20B23? The M20B20 I gather has the same block and head, it's just the crank that differs, so perhaps you could swap the M20B23 crank into the M20B20... It runs on 3 cilinders, I suspect the injectors, And the viscous coupling of the cooling fan is broken. So it became overhea...

Re: Drive shaft
Found something on the wiki, The 240 gearbox is longer so i quess the drive shaft won't fit with the 240 box.
But then
question number2, is the clutch interchangable? Cause I will fit in (if it fits) the best one if both engines are out the car.
But then

Drive shaft
I have an m20b23 but it's messed up, So I have bought a m20b20 with gearbox. Will the Drive shaft from the b23 fit on the car when I have the b20 with gearbox in it? Or do I have to fit the b23 gearbox on the b20? I believe the gearboxes used on b23 are Getrag 260 and the gearboxes on b20 Getrag 240?

M43B16 radiator
I want't to put A radiator from a e36 316i compact with M43B16 engine, in my e30 because the original is leak.
I couldn't find any info about this. Or is the m42 rad the same as a m43?
Will it cool enough with a M20B20?
Are there things i should know, or just fit it in and there you go?

AFM from Jetronic on Motronic
I currently going to swap my b23 for a b20 engine, I got all the parts with the b20 despite the AFM. So I was wondering will the b23 AFM work on the b20.
Note; the b23 is Jetronic and the b20 Motronic
