Only one worn out key
Im looking to reburb my door locks but was wondering how I go about getting more keys cut if my current one is very worn? After using it to turn the ignition on a work machine it became really notchy to unlock from the boot (I have to wiggle back and forth now) Just wondering if the bmw dealership p...

320i/325i alluminium radiator
Just wondering if anyone has fitted an ally radiator to a 320i or 325i with the tube expansion tank on the right hand drivers side strut tower? Ive seen people fit m3 e36 mishimoto rads which is what I really want but cant find info on how you get them to fit and how complicated it is. If anyone kno...

CPS Problem
Car sometimes wont start until I pull crank shaft sensors (two?) On gearbox bellhousing and then re insert them... Heard the top sensor is the speed sensor and the bottom one is the actual cps? Do I just need to replace the cps? Also is it normal for a weak/failing sensor to sometimes start and then...

I had blue top tint on my old 316i and really liked it. Was replaced without tint.. if I had the chance I would go top tint again. Its really just down to personal preference.

I really got this 320 for the body but I'd like to enjoy it for the time being. I'll take the advice above and see where it gets me.

320i how slow does she go?
Just wondering how fast/slow should a 320i be? Mines just so laggy. I was going to just leave it as Im planning to swap it out sometime this year but considering putting some effort in for the time being to atleast have a bit of fun. Will new distributor cap and refurbed injectors really give it a n...

So finally got the car lowered. 60mm front and rear ebaich springs on bilstein b8 shocks. Also upgraded the front struts to 51mm and swapped over the already uprated calipers and vented discs. Had to get a shop (alltech garage) in tunbridge to do it for me because I couldn't remove the control arms ...

Yeah 3500 was all in. But they said that was literally just getting an m52 in without going into detail. So they wouldnt de bracket engine bay and clean. No major rebuild on engine etc. The more I paw over the diy swap guides the more I think I should just have a crack at it myself. What feeling wou...

Im in surrey. Really trying to weight up the options. Looking to buy a workshop at the moment so hopefully I can do it myself.
Id like a quote for a conversion supplied and fitted.
One garage quoted me 3500
Another garage said m52's are unrealiable engines in his opinion and wouldnt quote me to fit it

Whats the procedure if I dont want abs? Can I actually remove the abs pump off the m52 engine? Sounds like it would make life easier regarding fitting the m52 ait filter housing instead of a k&n cone filter

Do I need abs on m52 swap
Just wondering.. I have a 320i with no abs installed but I will be installing 51mm strut housings that fit abs sensors..
Do I need to legally fit abs if swapping to a m52 or can I blank it?
How hard is it to just wire it in? (I would prefer to have abs)

m52b28/m52b25 swap by specialist cost?
What would I expect to pay a specialist to swap out a m20b20 from my 320i 1987 and replace with either of the above?
I'm lacking space to store parts and also a garage to do the build.
I've hunted the forum for an estimate but cant find much.

Re:
Went to put the new shocks and springs in sunday only to realise the strut housings were 45mm not 51mm that I needed.
Have some 51mm strut housings on the way including calipers so its a sort of upgrade. Figured I may as well sort them out if I have plans to swap engine in the future.

When I did my search brian told another memeber that if you just replace the strut housing and have to reuse the hub, rotor etc that removing them will damage the hub? 45mm strut housing swap for 51mm?
I have a 1987 320i and went to swap out the suspension and realised I had 45mm strut housing :( I was sure that only early model e30's had 45mm housing but its still my fault for not physically checking. I want to use the shocks I've got to put on so can I just buy 51mm strut housing and bolt striag...

Does the fuel leak only happen when you brim it? If so i guarantee it's the overflow pipe.. remove the rear seats and the inspection panel and have a quick look Yes! I thought that would be the case. Also fuel gauge fluctuates a bit from time to time. Not sure if normal as my last e30 only liked to...
