Re: M40b18 not starting!! Need help
On my 316i, the plug for all the injector fell out of the connector during driving. Have you checked that? Also check if the fuel in and out are connected correctly.

M54 pistons and turbo is ordered. As the original post states, I bought a Garret T3/T4e, with 0.78A/R and twin-scroll exhaust housing and 4" antisurge compressorhousing. Also, some pictures of the block, the car it is going into, the head (all intake valves are grinded, only exhaust left), new spark...

M42 Turbo - Scandinavian style
Hello from Norway. Here I will keep some kind of log/build thread of my forced induction project. M42 turbo! I chose the M42 because of the weight, weightdistribution and the potential. The goal is around 400-450whp. The parts I am going to use is: - Stock M42 block with o-rings in the block. M50 cr...

Re: Will battery relocation kit fit e30 Touring?
I made my own cable with 50mm2 cable from the back and to the dashboard, because I have a main-power switch there. In the enginebay I used an E34 M5 (any E34 with battery under the seats have this terminal) battery terminal. In the boot I welded a tray with angeled iron, and welded two thread-rods t...

Re: M40b16 turbo install
My brother's M40 is at 313whp. He changed cams, 440cc injectors, Vems ECU, Evo9 turbo, welded the manifold himself. He made an oilfilter cover that he took oil from, and returned it to the oil pan. De also did some other things, if you want more info. send me a PM.

I don't need to use the oil pump from M44? The compression ratio is going to be dropped to about 7.5:1

Re: M42 with M47 crank
Is there a list of M44 parts that fit M42, and which parts on the M42 that are prone to failure?

Re: M42 with M47 crank
Then its probably better to drop it. The M44 has 1mm longer stroke, which I probably has to shave off of the piston. Do you know if the M42 has oil squirters?

Re: M42 with M47 crank
I want to keep the bore. So it would be better to use an M44 crank with M42 pistons/rods? I am turbocharging the engine, just want a little bit more displacement. For a 2l (1929cc), it says here that you can use the original pistons, but what about the rods? http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/index....

M42 with M47 crank
Does anyone know if I can use the M47 crank on original M42 rods and pistons? Or do I have to use shorter rods/forged rods/pistons?

My brother got 318hp and 413nm out of his M40B16, but he runs 2.5 bar of boost.

Re:
The M40 is actually quite good for turbo, my brother runs a turbo on his M40, it made 318whp and 413wnm. This on 2.5 bar of boost. He has blown one original head gasket because of knocking because his map was roughly put together.

Tachometer issues, stuck at 1k rpm
Hey, my brother and I are rebuilding his 325i and have serious problems with the tachometer. It is stuck on 1k rpm. Its it stuck there wether the ECU is plugged in or not. Imediately, when the ignition is turned one step, it rises to 1k rpm. We've tried changing coding plugs, checked the batteries, ...

Re: Grommet/plug to delete antenna and rear windshield wiper
I ask again, a friend of mine has a plug on his wiper, but it was there when he bought so he don't know where to get it. Anyways, I measured it and the panel holde is 25.4mm, the panel thickness is 1,6mm and the overall diameter is 32mm. Does any of you know I can get one of those without paying ins...

Grommet/plug to delete antenna and rear windshield wiper
As the title says, I'm looking for a plug/grommet to delete/block off my rear windshield wiper and the antenna on the roof. As you may notice, I need this to a touring. Does anyone know where to get any of this?
