RHD M54 Engine Swap
I have a RHD E30 Wagon in the US and am getting ready to do an M54 swap. It is becoming more common in the US but I cant seem to find a good thread for a RHD version. My only concern to how it is different to the LHD version is the exhaust manifold. What do people do? modify an existing manifold or ...

Re: E30 Touring Wheel Alignment Spec
Are RHD cars different to LHD? Only if the LHD one is a M3. For 'ordinary' E30s, the spec. for LHD and RHD is the same, but the set up would be slightly different, since the simulated weight of the driver, which is supposed to be in place during the alignment, would be on the same side as the steer...

E30 Touring Wheel Alignment Spec
I own a RHD E30 touring in the US. I dont think any garage here has the spec for a wheel alignment for this car.
Can anybody help me with the spec? Is it different to any E30?
Thanks in advance.

Re: 320i Wheel bearing Sizes
I've done a lot of searching for the FAG and Meyle part numbers with no luck with dimensions for just the bearing. Thats why I was asking if anyone has one, if they can measure one to the closest mm.

320i Wheel bearing Sizes
I'm making a tool to slide the front wheel bearing on straight. This is for a 89 320i Touring. Does anyone have an axle, and or bearing laying around? I need dimensions for: 1. Bearing Inner Diameter 2. Bearing Inner race thickness 3. Length of the thread on the Axle end If anyone has the actual FAG...

Re: E30 Exhaust Manifold Gasket
I've put everything back together. The rough exhaust sound is till there!
Has anyone had experience with the exhaust manifold leaking elsewhere? Apart from the gasket? I did not get the manifold skimmed, would that be a common problem? Are leaks common?
Thanks

Re: E30 Exhaust Manifold Gasket
Yupp, I've undone the bracket to the gearbox, and the nuts to the downpipe. That was a faff! Finally managed to separate it. Thanks everyone for the help. I'm going to take this opportunity to replace all gaskets, studs and nuts, including the ones for downpipe. Fingers crossed the studs wont snap d...

Re: E30 Exhaust Manifold Gasket
I've managed to remove all the nuts. I stuck a pry bar between cylinder 4 and 5 to pry the manifold slightly which worked but its stuck against the Steering Shaft.. I will have a go removing it from the downpipe tomorrow. It doesnt look promising the way it looks almost welded due to the heat! And y...

Re: E30 Exhaust Manifold Gasket
Yea, I am surprised too, I guess the trick is to soak it with penetrating fluid in advance and get to it the next day.
As far as the manifold itself, its still stuck. I havent removed the front exhaust pipe, are you talking about the downpipe? If so No.

E30 Exhaust Manifold Gasket
Hello all, I'm trying to remove the exhaust manifold off my E30 touring (M20) to change the gasket as it is blowing. I've somehow managed to get all the nuts off, even that impossible one that is right behind 4th cylinder. Then I soaked the mating areas with penetrating fluid for a couple of hours. ...
