Mainbeam not working - Help!

Coming into work this morning I noticed that I couldn't get the main beam to work, either by flashing (pulling stalk in) or by pushing stalk away.

But when I got to work - they were working fine :o

There was a lot of spray on the roads.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks,

Angus

Just a thought, but thread pitch doesn't play a part in torque calculating, just how much load is applied by a torque
Tsk! - I stand corrected, been a long time since i did any engineering maths

Unless you can find a torque demultiplier (if such a thing exists)......

Get a smaller torque wrench :D

Or maybe you could calculate the length of bar needed to get that torque on that thread pitch..... maths

i think 250 from an m20b25 is possible and keeping it fairly road friendly, i guess people forget when hartge built and raced 325's it wasnt with the technology we have nowadays....but really whats the point. 250bhp isnt that much. definately not worth Ԛ£5k from a 2.5litre engine. I agree with...

Powerflex vs Superflex

I'm going to replace the front bushes in the next few weeks and I'm considering Powerflex or Superflex ones.

Has anybody had experience of both these makes and is there any difference between them?

Also, what is the difference in ride quality/noise over the standard rubber ones?

Cheers,

Angus

More smells...........and odd clunks

Occasionally after going on a short run, stopping then starting the car, I get a vague smell of petrol (sometimes) or semi burnt oil-ish smell (like an oily exhaust fume). both are very faint. I've had a good root around the engine bay and I can't see any leaks. The back box is blowing slightly whic...

Sounds like they're drawing more power/current than they should be, or maybe your battery is not fully charged/charging properly.

I'm sure the right answer will come along soon.

Stevin - I was thinking more of getting some unrusty bits/cars (not neccessarily rare models but good 318/320's - especially ones with aircon) and bringing them over here!

I think your looking at 2K to ship from UK to SA and vice versa - basically you are paying for a 20' container on a big ship so weight is not an issue.

Hmmm!!!!!!!!!

I wonder how much a 40' would be (and how many bits/cars could be fitted in) winkeye
